If you're at an airshow, there will be other photographers with step ladders and monster lenses, shooting 'round' them can be problematic sometimes.

My biggest problem with Pentax is the lack of a 100-400mm lens for air shows. Nikon, Sony and Canon all have one so there must be a need yet we don't have anything with that range. If I remember correctly something is on the lens roadmap but when it will arrive is anyone's guess.
A 70-200mm is too short most of the time and a 300mm prime not flexible enough so you are basically left with the 60-250mm (still too short) or one of the big Sigmas (50-500mm, 150-500mm or 120-400mm). Personally I use the 50-500mm OS but have seen some excellent pictures taken with the 150-500mm.
Some from last years Bournemouth air show

I tend to use AF.C, one af spot and stick it in machine gun mode for airshows.
One from Cowes powerboat race last year with same lens.

I would love to go to York and see the cathedral, I may get the chance in July if I am lucky
If you are in the area consider the alternative of Beverley Minster. Not as grand as York but some say the architecture is better and it is likely to be nearly empty.
St Mary's at the other end of town is a lovely church with good misericords and a carving which was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll's white rabbit.
Parts of the town are also worth a picture or two.
Thanks for your kind comments Stuey

my depression was helped by a very good councilor rather than drugs,
I couldn't eat a bag of crisps without being quizzed by well meaning people about what I should and shouldn#t be eating which after a couple of days got to be annoying
My mum has type 2 diabetes and I help her all I can. Winstone Churchill called his depression 'the black dog'. I call mine 'the bitch'. In those days you couldn't talk about it and he was a great prime minister, photography is a good way to make it stay away. he did painting and was very good he could have sold his work and been a great artist as well.
Stephen Fry is very brave to admit his illness, I have a wicked sense of humor, people wouldn't know I get low at times.

(thanks for the nice e-mail you sent me some time ago BTW).
My friend has learning difficulties which are a bit more pronounced then mine, she used to like showing her pictures on another photographer site. Then a man wrote a torrent of abuse about them and her social worker got involved and threatened to report him to the moderator as the comments were quite vicious and uncalled for. In the end the moderator removed this member, he’s probably joined another photography forum now so be aware.
This really upset my friend who is agoraphobic as well, and uses her pc a lot as she hates going out. This experience knocked her confidence.
For me, does anyone know if there is a GCSE exam in photography?
OldTaffy I had a rat called Sandy which developed a tumour on her stomach, it grew so big I took her down the vets on the intention of putting her out of her pain. Turned out that she was in labour and gave birth to (don't know their proper name) kits, pinkies or just generally babies! I rang up my mum and she said 'are you ok now Sandy's in a better place? I said 'well she needs a bigger cage!! Sorry useless info har har.

That's OK Mike, have you seen what they are doing to the Imax on the seafront?
