I'm 63, but I certainly don't feel it.

I stand to be corrected, but it seems to me that there are far more postings/posters/activity since the refurb.

What's involved in "running Adblock Plus" please?

So, the order of the objects, from near to farther away, is:

Lady in Red
Snow-covered rear-mounted spare wheel on Freelander (with back of roof behind Lady in Red's head)
Near fir tree
Garden bushes
Far fir tree

Solved. Top marks for tenacity!

On the right-hand side, the fir tree nearest the lens is brighter than the one behind it. This gives the appearance of a line, sloping inward and down. The strange effect continues when the "line" apparently truncates the snow-capped pillar (if that's what it is) at the base of the tree - at least that's what attracted my eye as "unusual" in the picture.

Have a look at an Epson Stylus PHOTO R265 (or updated model). Unbeatable value and very good photographic printing, especially borderless, prints on suitable CDs too. Uses Claria inks (6 colours).

I think reasons change over time. For example, when I took my first pictures I was conscious of the cost of film and hoped that "they all came out," rather than anything else. Then colour film became more available and so subjects tended to be chosen for their range of, or difference in, colour.

Slide film brought another completely different dimension, allowing your efforts to be examined at previously-unattainable sizes. However, here again there was an element of hope that they reproduced what you saw.

The digital age has yet again revolutionised things. Cost is no longer a consideration (when it comes to film), you can usually see if it "came out" how you wanted it and post-processing adds yet another dimension. It's becoming more difficult on some occasions to "compose in the viewfinder" rather than simply bang off a range of exposures and focal lengths, deciding later on the computer screen if they "came out" OK and tweaking them if they didn't.

The bottom line, for me, has become a photograph that - both for myself and others - becomes a talking point, one way or another.

I met him once when I lived in Rye. He'd moored his yacht at the Marina and was having a drink in the Ypres Arms, where I played darts now and then.

Whilst not exactly "chatty," he was pleasant to talk to and in no hurry to leave. My main memory of the chat was that his only regret about his fame was that his father - who was always telling him to get a "proper job" - didn't live to see it.
