Wish i could see the photos that everyone is talking about?????
Can somebody please tell me why I cannot?
Assuming your browser is Microsoft's Internet Explorer, go to "Tools," then "Internet Options," then "Advanced," then scroll down to the "Multimedia" section. See if "Show Pictures" has a tick - if not, click in the little square box, then press "Refresh."

What I omitted to say before was that although part of the attraction is knowledge, critique and opinion, if there's no pleasure in the actual navigation or browsing, compared to before, then that - for me - is a major turn-off.

When I pop in, I like to see those posts that have arrived since my last visit - all on one list, ready for me to click on. That doesn't seem possible now, apart from apparently being able to see posts that arrive while I'm logged in. I could always do that anyway by refreshing the "posts since your last visit" screen.

I far from technophobic and I'm used to change, but there is a limit before loyalty is overtaken by despair.

Hey, just wanted to say that everyone needs to give the new site a good go and not make any quick judgements.
"Giving the site a good go" will not change views on the new design, in the same way that keeping on using a poor tool doesn't make the tool, or the experience, any better.

This new layout is just so dire. Probably my last visit.

Is the "New posts since last visit" option lost forever, I can't seem to find an identical alternative?

I love it! The woman seems to be offering a mobile 'phone to the somewhat distressed-looking man. The man's pose is probably worth a whole chapter in NVC (body language). I think the background is also a major part of the story. Great picture!

Just do as I suggest and you'll have the best of both worlds.

... I'll shut up now
Unfortunately, you didn't.

If I have to tweak this to prove what you can see with your own eyes then I will need the raw file.

So I use the phrase 'Pseudo HDR' and this thread turns into an HDR discussion.

Why has this thread become so polarised....

You don't have to have washed out sky, bleached roof tops and blown highlights, just to recover a bit of paintwork on the underside of a helicopter.
Well, what started off as a friendly discussion between three people has been lowered to a level of so-called "advice" that is not only dismissive, but patronising and downright rude - examples above.

I'm not at all bothered by the comments per se, just the tone, which I do not appreciate. The thread has become "polarised" because of one attitude.

As the OP, my preference would be that it is removed, in case visitors get the wrong idea of the usual friendliness here.

Right, have a look here (I'm not sure how to constrain the display size, rather than re-size the image).

Hopefully the person they came to airlift out is doing OK?
The call-out was for an electrocution. No-one was airlifted away and the original ambulance left at a normal pace - didn't look like a positive outcome to me, unfortunately.
