I suggest you talk the dealer into letting you borrow one and shoot some samples yourself. This why you get to use your lens.

just a thought

any views on the firmware update?

my 2p. I like it. Find I use my manual primes more than `A` lens. Bolt on the manual set the app, focus, press green button, app closes, meters and opens again, fire. Lovely.

Hats off to Matt. No use to me, but well impressed with the IR breakdown. As you say pays to read the manual a bit more carefully. Shame no auto Focus but I think I said in first post even if it did, you would not know what it was focusing on if you was not looking through the viewfinder anyway. prefocus and zapp away.

For malcolmk
The remote I am using is for a MDS JB 940 QS. Have not counted the buttons.

hello folks.

Messing around the other day found that the remote to my sony minidisc fires the Ist D when in remote mode. numerous buttons fire it. Only fires though could not get it to focus. but set tit all up and fire away works certainly up to 8m away.

might be worth a look to anyone who has sony gear. Also tried with Aiwa, toshiba and mitsubushi remotes. nothing.

Have been lurking and absorbing info. for a couple of months. Seems only right to register. So here I am.

Me super and ist D user. Love the ability to us ethe old glass on the modern kit.

Have not done extensive tests as others have reported but some images are underexposed. The 15-35 lens I got with the cam seems the worst culprit and have stopped using it.

Covered a cross country meet on sunday. In the woods the runners were sent through a stream. So set to manual F4 1/125 dialled in the same on a metz 45 cl1. Sorted. I would very much like a 360 flash I read so much about. But in the mean time all things manual still produces the goods.

Well that is the introductions sorted.

As above.

Slip your M 50mm 1.7 on an ist D and enjoy.
