I have a F1.4 via ebay, paid £104. Thought I paid less but checked my records and 104 it is. More than I thought, but very pleased. That is a lot of glass and looks the puppies privates when mounted on the ist.

The theoretical "standard" focal length according to the "rule" is a dimension that equates to the diagonal of the format. For 36 x 24mm format this works out at around 43mm.
Mac for your info. pentax do make a 43mm lens. Part of their limited range. Limited as in that is the name of the range, not they are short of choice.

For those that use film. Have you noticed any difference in print quality recently.
I have recently had some prints back and the colours where rubbish. Could not handel the graduation in the sky just after sunset. What do they use these to print these days. When looking closely looks pixilated and jaggy.

I assume somehow digitally printed. Thoughts and opinions plese.

Jointcomms

to be honest I do not know what the card speed is.

In return for sharing some of your images here are some of mine.

As an aside, I like the look of yor gallery software. Some seem overly fancy and busy. It must be my nature but I like the straightforward simplicity and layout.

Thanks

To both. Totally agree with your thoughts. Fast is good.

So far though, in the 9000+ images i have taken with the ist D. I have never found myself in a position where a few extra seconds (?) have been critical. Maybe that time will come, who konws. Perhaps it depends on what you shoot.

Jason so far so good

i felt the same way about my 360 flash

The 360 flash works a treat with the ist d. But you do have to beaware of reflected highlights that will cause the image to be grossly underexposed.
