Oh dear. Sorry it hasn't sorted your problem. It worked on my iPad and everything is in order now here so I am assuming it must be something on iOS. I'm on the 8.1.2 too.

I suppose there is a certain amount of exitement not knowing what each poster will be looking like today and looking for the content among the random images!!

I had this on my iPad too. Personal avatar images were all swaped around. And random images were all over the place.

Talking to Dave Burleson, it is a problem with iOS when it upgrades from iOS7 to iOS8. It can be sorted by clearing the history and website data in Safari. (Settings>Safari>Clear history and website data).

Note though that if you have saved logins (using cookies) these will have to be re entered as they will also be lost.

First try out of John's Pentax Q, Alnmouth yesterday lunchtime.
02 Lens, @5mm, f/5.6, 1/640th Sec, ISO 200.
Fiddled with in Lightroom 5.

Having been pretty dull all morning we got to Alnmouth around lunch time and the sun started to battle its way through the mist. The afternoon was great and by sundown (just before 4pm) the sky was clear. Lovely afternoon in a lovely location.

Many thanks John,

Little Q arrived today as promised. Well packed... actually, VERY well packed and in as far as I can see as new condition. Very pleased so thanks again.

It's a great picture. I'm just amazed you managed an 8 second exposure without anyone bouncing on the bridge. It's not that steady being a suspension bridge!

Really like the colours on the bridge and the light on the house. Not, perhaps what is expected of November!

I really like them as a set with the theme of the leaves running throughout.

And I like that you are varying the settings to give a wide range of different visual effects across the set. As has been mentioned, they would look great large in a physical gallery.

I have just started to experiment with water flowing in rivers such as you have here and I noticed how by extending the exposure just a little you get some nice, almost drawn or painted type effects as the water and bubbles and debris pass the lens. But you have a full range of effects which is great to see.

My favourites are 3, 8, 9, and 10. Picture 10 I am surprised at as I'm generally less keen on the really long exposure milky effect but the structure of the lines within the picture is really intriguing.

I love 9 as it breaks the colour rules of all the others with a bit of blue and because it shows the moving water in a blurred scribble effect but lets you know what is going on by showing the trapped leaves in sharp contrast.

For this same reason I am less keen on 4 because within the picture itself, I do not know if the whole thing is just out of focus or whether it is the movement effect - there is no direct reference. However, as part of the set, I do know that it is the movement effect, so it adds a further dimension to the group as a whole.

3 I love for the patterns and shapes and the dynamics in the image and 8 for the colours, the contrast and the rendering of the water rushing past stuck leaves. And I like the square format.

Having been to two similar locations recently and having been overwhelmed with the range of visual information presented, I can see that setting yourself a nice little project such as this is a very sensible strategy and one that I think you have turned into a great success.

I wonder if you are getting contamination from the InfaRed spectrum as per...

Quote:
today’s digital sensors are adversely affected by light outside of the visible spectrum - especially when using higher density ND filters. Infrared contamination causes black areas of the image to appear various shades of brown and purple. For extremely dark attenuation (16 stops for example used in fine art) infrared contamination will brighten the foliage to the point that the images appear as if they were taken with Infrared Film. The ProStop IRND filter is designed to eliminate the infrared contamination, increasing the quality and contrast of your images and allows you to shoot wide open during daytime with high sensitivity sensors with beautiful results.

This is of interest to me as I have it in my mind to have a go with a strong ND filter at some point.

So when David Storm mentioned his Haida filter I went looking for an equivalent. I found that there are 2 versions. 1 standard ND filter and one with infared capabilities also. On delving deeper I think this could be your issue. Look for IRND filters on Google and see what people are saying about them. But it seems that at higher densities, the IR "light" will affect modern digial sensors a great deal more than photographic film, hence the need to filter that too.

I might be completely wrong as I am no expert, but it might be worth a bit of further research.

Just found this thread which might be useful...

Love the first one - the sky is like an oil painting!

Ok, I have uploaded the original size version as a comparison to Flickr and it has indeed removed the problem.

I think that the problem is that when I export from Lightroom, it adds a certain amount of sharpening for viewing on a screen (although I can change that). If it is exported smaller, a relatively larger proportion of the information is changed along edges as there are proportionally fewer pixels. So when Flickr comes to automatically resize the file, and add more sharpening, it shows up much more in a smaller uploaded file.

Interesting.
