Isn't the cornflower a scabious and the bracken flower a bramble (blackberry) flower?
Thanks, Steve & yes to both of the above! Cornflower & scabious are at least vaguely similar, I have no idea how I managed to confuse bramble and bracken !!! Lack of sleep in the heat I suspect!

So far it's been a pretty good summer for butterflies, and I've been out and about with the K3 & DA*300, coupled with the DA HD 1.4 TC, occasionally the K5iiS with this lens combination - I'm enjoying using this set up immensely. A few of my recent efforts below:

Now redundant due to other lenses being used & my son not really using his camera (I'd kept it for him but he's used it once!) Bought from Dr Orloff on here - it's a sharp copy of this lens. Metal mount and quick shift, zoom and focus nice and smooth.

In excellent overall condition - body and barrel have no marks, hood is also unmarked. Comes with genuine front & rear caps, hood, paperwork and S80-160 Pentax lens pouch. All in original box.

Like you, Dan, I have found this combination ideal for skittish dragonflies which can be sensitive to a camera, lens and its user getting a little too close. The clarity and detail are stunning - I can see your results are the same! I'm also looking forward to trying the converter with the DFA100 WR Macro lens to see how those two work together.

Now the weather is slightly cooler and the butterfly numbers are diminishing the dragonflies are great to observe and photograph in the softer sunlight. This was a walk along the local river, with the dragonflies particularly active around one of the balancing ponds, where a lonely comma also posed with his unusual colouring on lower part of the upperwing.

All sorted and thanks for the offers - SRS located a few stray eyepieces that had gone AWOL from the stock system.
