Now the weather is slightly cooler and the butterfly numbers are diminishing the dragonflies are great to observe and photograph in the softer sunlight. This was a walk along the local river, with the dragonflies particularly active around one of the balancing ponds, where a lonely comma also posed with his unusual colouring on lower part of the upperwing.
