Same workflow for me that I have been using for the past few years.
Camera set to Adobe RGB, but everything that gets exported or saved as JPEG goes to sRGB (for printing, posting on web, etc...).

EXIF also shows it was saved out as sRGB. So I'm stumped about why the image looked so bad. I even opened the same image in the browser and it looked fine.

I'm not going to blame the competition uploader, otherwise everyone else would be having issues. It is just odd.

Carp another card slot too small for normal fingers?!?!

My card never ejected completely on the K7. Replaced the motherboard including spring mechanism and same problem. Repair shop said some are loose, other hold tightly to the card. Its a crap shoot whether the card ejects well or not.

My solution was to put a short piece of duct tape on the end so I could get more to grab on to.

Hey, anyone know if it is possible to re-upload an image after the entry is deleted?

I uploaded an entry but for the first time the image looked nothing like it did on my computer before uploading. (dunno quite what went wrong, I've been using the same process for several years but it was about two stops too dark after uploading).

Anyway, I deleted my entry but the system thinks I'm still entered and won't let me re-upload.
Any ideas what I need to do or who to talk to about freeing up the lock?

The aperture does briefly stop down when the camera is turned on. Is this the churkkk you're hearing? Look down the lens while powering on. You'll also notice is slightly when looking through the viewfinder.
Some lenses might be louder than others??

How about the Pentax Marketing Fund? They really need it.
Sorry, couldn't resist.

erg!

Yeah, if you click on the button and it does nothing, it sounds like Photoshop is confused.
First time I had an issue with Photoshop being confused, I could only paint in BLUE. Even in gray scale or on a single channel (which also has no concept of color).

I do not recall exactly where the preferences are, but search Google for clearing photoshop preferences (this is not an uncommon thing to have to do).
If you have any custom actions, be sure to back those up.

So are you saying that you are asked to save changes and although it has options for Yes and No, you can only select No?

Sadly, Photoshop at times gets confused and you may need to remove all of your preferences and let it start from scratch. This often fixes almost any problem. I've had to do that three times in the past two years. (both on Windows and mac)

BUT, I'm not real clear on what is going on and I'm not convinced you're at the point of having to wipe your preferences.

Give us a bit more info on your workflow... what file types, how are you opening the image, etc...
Are you editing a file that was not originally a JPG (etc RAW file or TIFF, etc..)?
When you normally click Yes to save when closing, is that because you're saving the edited PSD (or other format) file - after manually saving as JPG?

It depends on how you have LightRoom configured. Generally it will only make a link in its database to the original file, but a thumbnail is created (bad word, as the "thumbnail" may be a full sized representation of the original). Usually the thumbnail is a reasonably sized scaled down version.

One question... does the whole computer actually lock up, or just Lightroom?
LightRoom3 is much better than LightRoom 2 but it is still pretty hokey with regards to processing files. It gets into sates where it imports maybe 5 to 15 photos before updating the filmstrip or grid. Meanwhile it can be unresponsive.

If your whole computer is locking up, I would look at drivers, perhaps video drivers?
What sort of disk drives are the images and catalog located? Perhaps the driver for whatever device to which it is connected needs updating?

*Generally*, user level software does not cause the whole system to freeze on a multi-processor machine.
