Nice shots and although not an aircraft fan I like how the propellers have turned out. It clearly shows that this is of the 4 bladed variety which means an expert could date it.

Tried the Ricoh f/1.7 and the Pentax A f/1.7 outside and the Pentax is much better for sharpness. Used f/5.6 throughout.

The Ricoh does go purple with AWB, but isn't too bad set on Daylight although still too much green/blue.

I was surprised that the Pentax was better at AWB rather than Daylight. Seems a bit yellow/green at daylight.

Screen capture seems to be the best in this instance. It was after all against the screen viewer that I was comparing the other ones I tried and none were as good. I wouldn't like to do a big batch that way though. I use a 10 year old program called Jasc Image Robot if I need to do a batch and add whatever manipulations I want to the batch.

Edit: Just noticed on the Exif Data the light was so bad I had to use 280ISO so that could be part of the reason they aren't reducing properly. It was actually drizzling as well. This lens seems very good in bad light such as shaded areas.

That's 27x focal length. The later chart was 40x . If I were using that chart I'd try it at 50% more than stated = 6ft 6in and add 50% to the lpmm results otherwise everything will be resolved

I finished up setting the screen resolution to 800x600 viewing in ACDSee (old version) pressing "Print Screen" on keyboard and then opening Corel Photopaint 11 which has "new from clipboard" on the menu and then saving. I could have probably just used Snagit to capture the screen straight to jpeg. I tried from a couple of editors but they lost too much detail.

I've never found a better viewer than ACDSee v3.1 it uses a very good sharpening algorithmn for the monitor display and is fast.

Your right there Andrew a lot of purple has been added to the 100% crops? It's still there in the galvanized posts on the original, but the worst part (and I can't see if you have any) is usually black paint it turns purple so do gray roof tiles. Setting WB to shade or even daylight might fix it. I'm going to try after with my f/1.7. Some of the old M series also add a lot of purple. My 28mm f/2.8 does.

Following on from lidy's post here are three shots from when I first got the Jupiter-37A 135mm f/3.5 in February this year.

The location was Salford Quays which is a separate city adjacent to Manchester. It was dull, drizly and cold, but that's Manchester

The shots were just to try out the bokeh of the lens. I can't remember if I used f/4 or f/5.6

Unfortunately a lot of quality is lost on these reducing down to 800w

In a word "Brilliant" never compared the two but I would prefer it anyday over the F. It's a constant f/4 as well.

Watch out for element cement separation at the front, looks like fungus. It still seems to work OK with it though.

The 11A and 37A are superb lenses, I've got both. More suitable for shots that feature bokeh, but sharp enough for photos of dogs as here.

The 37A is f/3.5 but I couldn't tell the difference between to two at f/4
