Mov plays well in VLC. I have to know as that's what I have to create for FCP / Premiere.

I did mention VLC earlier. It's improved a lot from what it was. It now (at least)remembers what dir. you loaded the last file from The aspect ratio still seems fixed though so if you have one that's showing a bit of distortion, you can't just drag it to a different AR. I've always liked MPC, but it does seem to be falling behind, it can't even handle the HD FLV format properly... VLC can.

My video interests are only the odd Youtube Pop video and equipment demos and I think Flash Player handles all the youtube stuff OK.

MOV files are always bad news on a PC. I don't think anything can edit or repair them and they won't play if damaged, plus QT wants to phone home every time you play one and the colours are poor.

From what I've seen of them AVI files from XviD or Divx are quite impressive and play well in Media Player Classic.

With macros the DOF is governed by the image size and aperture.
The focal length doesn't make any difference. So if the image
is the same size in the viewfinder a 200mm lens will have the
same DOF as a 50mm. So you may as well carry on with the 135mm
and 50mm and try to stop down to f/16

Alggernon, if your browser supports HTML5 then Vimeo will serve you an mp4/h264 video, but if your browser doesn't support HTML5 you get a Flash video. So possibly you are using an HTML5 browser but you have Quicktime as your only h264 player?
I'm not really interested in Video, but it does mention MOV at the bottom of the page and the page source shows a size of 818.83MB my meter was showing a full 10Mbit download so I presume it was a MOV file which I would normally play in VLC. I think Virgin cap your speed for DL'ing 800MB at peak times

Never any problems with Youtube but they are successful and Vimeo aren't... wonder why?

This is the site I picked it up from. It also has a link back to
the original msdn site with a download zip of the file.

Something to do with Evolution of the Microsoft Color Management Ecosystem

I hope it doesn't mean that from next year you will need a special license to view the colour RED!

Blue in IE 8 though.
So Firefox is Colour Managed and IE 8 isn't

Tried it on Windows 7 same as XP Pro except when you save it to the HDD and look at with Windows Picture Viewer when it becomes RED. Probably RED in an Editor as well.

Don't worry about it not showing RED in a Browser

Just tried it on Windows 7 which has Quicktime on it and it played, but the bandwidth was quite large. Not exactly my cup of tea and there were a few jumps, but that might be the download.

Can't play it.... probably because it's MOV rubbish
Would be better as an AVI or even an FLV as used on Youtube
