we had a very light flurry of the white stuff again this morning so I tried to get some snowflake macros, trouble is they were slightly melted. Still some nice formations, let me know what you think.

Good effort but too much OOF in my opinion. I think this sort of shot needs a tripod and mucho stopping down for a much greater DOF.

Back to school for me... I tried a combination of a 135 prime and reversed 50 and it just doesn't have enough DOF. Then cam across the article about Thomas Shahan link and all he uses is a reversed 50 on some tubes, well I've got both of them but no adapter so tried the 50 not reversed and straight away a whole load more DOF. So will be sticking to this method in future. Also need to learn focus stacking ... any tips on this technique?

With macros the DOF is governed by the image size and aperture.
The focal length doesn't make any difference. So if the image
is the same size in the viewfinder a 200mm lens will have the
same DOF as a 50mm. So you may as well carry on with the 135mm
and 50mm and try to stop down to f/16

So are these any better. This time with the tubes and the Pentax A 50mm but not reversed as I don't have the adapter yet.

Nice shots

I like the last one the most
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.
