Hi Roger,

This was about 23:20pm. My first shot was about 22:40 - ie when I could first make it out with naked eye as a very faint 'smudge'. It is to the North-West. Follow a line through the length of the Plough/ Ursa Major, left to right and it is off there somewhere. Elevation 30deg at a guess. It may be possible to pick it out earlier with binos I suspect, or maybe even a long-ish exposure with a wider angle lens to pick it out in the sky!

Happy snapping and we look forward to the result!

Here is one from last night from the South Downs; lots of others looking from on the hill as well!

Brilliant stuff John!

What a great set Barrie; no 3 is my favourite - the layout of the fruit just leads my eye into the picture nicely (whilst getting gastric juices going as well!)

Hi Barrie et al,

This guy does amazing stuff with macro along with explanations etc;

He is/ was a member on here (as a Pentax user) although we haven't seen him around for a while- user namenass. Hope that helps!

Both monos are really good IMO. Love the big sky of no 2!

Me too!

Congrats sir! (albeit off topic for this thread...)

You've created a nice 'textured lighting' if that's the right phrase!

A great set - and as the others have said - so lucky to have these so close to home!
