I couldn't sleep last night and saw the moon out of my window. Figured it'd be nice to try and take a picture of it. I have a 400mm Optomax lens which I received as a hand-me-down from my mum, however it's an M42 mount and my only digital at the moment is my K7. I decided that if I put the lens on my tripod and rested the camera gently behind the mount I could perhaps get a shot. So I took about 25 high speed shots in the hope at least some may come out fairly sharp and to my surprise it worked rather well.

I'll put it on here if that's ok I've made sure it's not full size. Out of interest, I was considering getting a Pentax adapter for the lens because it's really rather nice, I saw a genuine Pentax model on the SRC Microsystems website. Good spend?

I think it must be a physical issue, seeing as the last shot that looked normal was a split second before the first off looking one. It's still not really working, it's like all of the colour has disappeared from the pictures, which is really disheartening because my favourite thing about the camera is how rich colours looked on it.

I'm going to try and find out where the nearest dealer is and speak to them in person, it's still under warranty if anything is actually wrong with it.

Wasn't using a tripod. Only difference in the desktop utility is the RGB levels.

Same flower now, same settings f10, 1/250 same light outside. Overexposed.

It appears to be on single shot, but I'll go out and take a few snaps.

I was concerned because the normal looking photo there was the last one to look like that. Kept taking pictures afterwards and they all look like the overexposed image.

I had switched between three lenses shortly before hand just to see if everything looked good, because I haven't used the camera for a few weeks.

I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty basic with settings beyond just shooting manually.

How do I check if that's the case?

I took about ten shots a few minutes later and it was still doing the same thing.

Basically I was about to set off on a walk with the camera, took a quick snap of a flower and in a matter of seconds, this happened:

I checked the properties on the computer, they are identical, and they were taken literally one after the other...


It's as if the shutter settings have shifted. A couple minutes later I took this on 1/4000, but the shutter clearly didn't go that fast:

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm between jobs at the moment so any kind of expensive remedy would have been impossible.

Yeah, I have dust removal set for start up. I'm worried these may actually be stuck in one position as I repeated the removal several times and the photos taken after follow the same pattern.

Can you recommend any kits for wet cleaning or should I contact a dealer? I'm not sure how confident I am about doing it myself.
