No.6 and No.1 for me..but I like most of them. What frequency range did you settle on for the conversion and was there a particular reason for that?

Welcome to the site...hope you get more involved as you feel ready. Try commenting on some of the photos in the gallery that you might like..its an easy way in..you don't have to be too technical..and the people who have taken the images will be pleased to get some feedback.

It's just the 18-35 NOT 135 I think you'll find.

I personally wouldn't risk my own life for a photo...no matter how good...UNLESS as johnx alluded to it was in pursuit of a cause i had already decided I WAS prepared to die for. Getting a bit deep and philosophical here though...photography is a great hobby but that's all it is really...a nice diversion along the way.

At the risk of going off at a slight tangent...how do people feel about the ethics of taking a photo of someone in need of help...maybe even about to die...yet making the decision to take the photo rather than help? Something I have never faced, yet can only imagine ever taking one course of action...but some of the pictures you see in Sunday supplement type 'assignments' to various danger zones etc leave you asking that particular question.

I'll probably hang on for several months after it is introduced and get some feedback before deciding whether to upgrade or not. My main concern will be whether or not it is more secure against hacking and the like than previous versions which all seem to come with 'backdoors' direct to the NSA and GCHQ.

Some nice shots...Nos 2 and 4 for me. That digger is just so incongruous...it's cool...and its facing directly towards the distant light which really makes the shot.

One thing that keeps cropping up in any detailed discussion about operation of modern DSLRs is how potentially complex they are and secondly how many permutations of settings and customisation there is/are.

I thought my K-x was incredibly complex moving up from a series of 35mm SLRs...and a manual like a mini-telephone directory. Fours years on, if I being honest, I bet i've only ever used or played with about a quarter to a third of all that it can do or the things i can customise or alter. It sounds like the more expensive bodies introduce another level of creative twiddling on top of this!

It is for products like this that it is essential the manufacturers keep supplying a full paper operating manual rather than a CD..at least you can take it with you easily on outings and peruse a few pages when necessary.
