Windy Brighton Pier

Despite getting nearly blown off Brighton Pier this afternoon, I got a nice in flight shot of a seagull (not sure of the type), with my Pentax 50-200mm. Think it's only the second time I've used the lens since buying it about 6 months ago.

Well Gilis, I think this pictures says...You are ready indeed to use your 50-200mm. Try out some more...and share them with us.

I love the way the sun spills across the Gulls face.

Here in canada, we simply call them sea-gulls.

That's a very good shot. I never realised the Pentax 50-200mm was that good, no sign of any purple fringing.

That looks very good indeed, on what focal length was this one made?

It was taken at; 1/500, f6.7, and 200mm. It certainly shows a marked improvement over the 70-300mm Tamron. I think I've been neglecting the Pentax lens.... (bearing in mind there was a lot of light at the time).
Starting to make me think seriously about the DA* 60-250, although it's quite a long way outside my budget at the moment.

FYI, here's another shot I took the same day. I don't particularly like the image, it's a bit too "busy" so it's just a straight JPEG from the camera. But I think it's a good example of the performance of the 50-200mm lens. 1/350, f11, ISO100, 88mm.
