Interesting. Page six of the review mentions "the 7fps bust mode" Is this for glamour work perhaps?

Interesting review, though many of the comments seemed to reflect the reviwer's personal tastes rather than the technical info, and a different reviewer would have probably had a totally different opinion and interpretation.
I was surprised that no mention was made of how they both handle colour balance, as the difference is quite noticeable, especially at the higher ISOs.

Very poor review. Complains about purple fringing on the Pentax and then shows a load of Nikon pics with purple all over them, poorly focused and not ideal for showing noise.
I've heard that Popular Photography in the US have a K-5 review this month and it's quite glowing.

Also true that in a world where every journalist that gets asked "I want a Pro Camera. What camera should I buy? Canon or Nikon?", it is nice to see Pentax slugging it out toe to toe and getting respect.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

how much ca/pf is visible is often down to post processing... I suspect many raw converters can be set up to optimize for a particular camera on import so it is a minor issue... I suspect many reviewers are simply using default settings.

Probably very true. I don't shoot RAW. Its framing, levels, sharpen and "save as". Same process for all my kit. The linked images are default settings as far as processing goes. Same as my K10, istD and K7.how much ca/pf is visible is often down to post processing... The trouble with default settings is Pentax has less resources and market share, so adobe, apple, and other software vendors are putting more effort in "Default" settings for more popular cameras.
Even when Silkypix first started working with Pentax for Pentax's raw converters, I think it was Mattmatic's advice to try the "Nikon" settings for processing images from certian Pentax cameras that had Sony sensors for quick and easy raw conversions of Pentax pef files.

As for PS, I just use the minimum required process to get a finished image. I don't use "auto" settings in PS.
