Hi, got the k-x today, went to my local camera store and they had the body for £309 but when I got to check out, it came up as £359. (as online) but because it had been on display at £309 that's what I got it for also bought a used 50-200mm for £80 so feeling rather pleased. time to play by the way, thanks for all your help and advice

Glad to hear you got one for the old price.
Very strange that the price has shot up lately?

Enjoy - Mine had its first birthday yesterday. I'd never owned an SLR before and found it easy to use. I've taken about 25,000 shots in the first year mind

Congrats Jaqui, but don't lessons from me on Zooms, although I fared a lot better with the 50-200 than I am at present doing with the 50-300

I'm sure you will get used to it. I hope to add the 55-300mm later when funds allow, but the 50-200mm will do me fine for now. only had a very short time to try my new camera but very impressed so far especially at high iso. wow! just wondering actually if I need to install a firmware update, I thought I read somewhere that it was available.

I updated the firmware to 1.01. It worked easily following the instructions. I did have a spare card which helped.

I took some reasonable shots with the 50-200 in the short time I have had the Camera. I am just putting 2 in the gallery . Then it's me done unless I get something really special in the future. These 3 (pheasant) are just a beginners "for starters"

P.S. see I have to wait a day to upload another.

Hi, I just clicked that link and notice 1.02 is now available.

So thought I'd post for anyone else interested & not aware - it seems it adds compatability with SDXC memory cards. Useful if you do a lot of video I guess.
