You appear to be easily satisfied.

But, I look forward to an example of your good manners when you feel the stock of them is high enough that you can afford to waste some on this forum.

Congratulations to you, Health and best wishes to you and your family! Looking forward to seeing the baby photos!

Thanks Don.

I thought I'd have some photos by now, four days late and counting...

maternity shots though (no I don't expect you to post any) are priceless even if your spouse is reluctant, she'll appreciate them later in life.

My life expectancy would reduce dramatically if I were to post any!

I've been taking some shots throughout the pregnancy which I was hoping to put in a collage frame with some of the newborn.

No, just measuring them against society as a whole.

I'm surprised to see you indulging in the little jibes George, I thought you looked down on such behaviour with contempt?

Are your standards slipping?

It's hard to believe that an innocent thread about the I-10 could degenerate so quickly into bickering. I am asking you to put a stop to it now.
Best regards, John

To be fair John, all I've done is make my feelings felt about the potential Pentax release then defend myself against various accusations and remarks. I've done it without swearing or any aggressive behaviour.

Sorry.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

To get back on topic, I do feel that the i10 is rather a damp squib. It's just an inexpensive p&s with a nod in the direction of the shape of the Auto-110.

It seems to have very mixed reviews concerning image quality, though in some cases those complaining seem to be DSLR owners who are not making sufficient allowance for the essential limitations of the camera type.

I was just hoping for a bit more than a fairly generic P&S in a nice body.

It is lovely looking though, especially the black and silver version.

agreed. I think the new camera system, if the rumors are true will address the image quality issues, probably be better built and if combined with the kx's colors/toy camera paint jobs, and interchangeable lenses will likely amount to a pocketable system that will be a sales success, regardless of whether or not it meets 4/3's image quality Especially in Asian markets...
I can envision two small cases, one with camera and lens in one jacket pocket, the other with two or three lenses, memory cards and spare battery in the other.
Decent images and video for most users.

minox sized would awesome!

Nice to know I'm part of "All"

I'm fallible, you're illogical. Let's move on!

Well, I have my I-10, had it since Christmas. Looks great in silver and black. Have to agree to some extent with Francois but overall I love it. It goes everywhere with me now.

Main issues I have are with automatic ISO selection in P and that everything appears a little over exposed. I have to step down almost always when the sun is shining.

I think the picture quality is acceptable, it is really for snaps rather than pictures. The K20 comes out for "proper" stuff. There really is no comparison but then I never expected there would be.

The final bonus is the great video recording for those random acts of a nearly 2 year old daughter. Also it is easier to use and better quality pictures than my wife's more expensive purple Fuji compact.

Not sure I would bother with an interchangeable lens version though.

I agree with you, Intheframe: "really for snaps rather than pictures". Maybe this is the first true P&S I use. My first digital camera was a Casio QV3000EX. The overall concept was of a P&S, it had boring menus, but a great Canon F/2 lens, and I could use it like a real photo camera. Even for my tiny Samsung NV3: I used it mostly in "creative" mode, hardly ever allowed the flash, once again like a real camera.
On the I-10 I begin to discover the "for dummies" features: smile detection and so on
One of the main reasons of my purchase was (after the compulsive buying I already alleged) the video recording feature: I use it the same way as you, but for my grandchildren. Videos are fine, though a bit too noisy at low light, with rather poor sound. Which software do you use to edit them? I never install the software bundled with my cameras, but maybe there is something for the video on the CD. As for now the videos I get are not directly readable on a recent LG Blu-Ray Divx certified player which accepts really a lot of formats. I have to convert into HD MPEG.

Hello Francois. Haven't tried any editing of video yet. Agree it is a bit grainy on a bigger screen but consider it a useful bonus really at the price paid. Best outdoors like the still photos.

I guess that if there is any disappointment it is performance in anything other than bright light, but I had read that before I bought it.

Still think it is a useful little pocket (just) camera and a bit different from the norm.

cheers
