that little battery adaptor for the kr? make one little modification to it... add a little red/green sliding tab on there somewhere... red for dead batteries, green for ready to use batteries....
then make accessory grips for ALL your cameras that will accept it, and incorporate it into a new weather sealed flash unit..... that way I can use rechargeable batteries for an entire shoot and swap batteries fast and easy while on the job... camera, flash, spare body, all using the same battery pack, and an easy way to make sure the pack I just picked up is ready to go..... nothing more aggravating than fumbling with aa's (or proprietary batteries) in a dim room while in a hurry...

include the AA adapter as standard with the K-r
I'd agree with this one. And while I am looking forward to getting my hands on a K-r, the abscence of a top LCD panel is a bit annoying for me. I guess I'm just too used to the layout of the K100D Super.include the AA adapter as standard with the K-r

Where should I start?
Faster AF, Better AF in low light, Tethering, Lens range expanded to up to 600mm (zoom and/or prime, maybe lightweight as well(DA-L?)), Flash Sync speed of 1/250, GPS, Weather sealed Flash, FF Sensor, Dual Memory Card slot and Bluetooth.
I guess that's enough for starters: lol:

Actually too much. A major manufacturer simply isn't going to add this much to the next revision of their product, for 2 (related) reasons:
- You buy that camera and you're set for life, or a while at least
Profit to Hoya/Pentax equals 1 * % profit per camera
- They give you a few of these in the next revision and a few more in the next, etc
Profit to Hoya/Pentax = X * % profit per camera (which itself is probably increasing with reduced manufacturing costs - assuming they get it Right-First-Time )
Product Marketing is about just how little needs to be added for model differentiation to keep you regularly upgrading. There's a systemic reason that you see statements here like: "K-7 doesn't seem to offer enough improvements over my K20D" etc.
This is particularly true when much of the product is software/firmware. There is a business model whereby they could have put double or triple the firmware space in say a K20D - or a K5 - and charge for upgrades. But the distribution channel needs to be very different of course. Amazon could probably handle it and make a profit, but not your bricks-and-mortar camera shop...

The K5 wasn't an incremental increase over the K7 .. it was a gigantic leap. Why ? The competition. If you want to stay competitive and sell cameras then you need to not only keep up with the Joneses but go another step beyond. The K5 did this and the next iteration will have to come up with something beyond what the potential replacements for the D7k & 60D will produce, or at the very least stay level. Pentax have always been known for innovation and I believe they'll continue that trend.

Perhaps I should have said a 28mm DA Limited. And why not? There's room for the 77mm FA and the 70mm DA Limiteds isn't there? When they already have a 31mm f1.8 Limited ?
But if you'll give me a second bite at the cherry, how about a 28mm counterpart to the 35mm f2.4?
