Stupid Local Council

Hmm - our local Councillor told us at the Community Council meeting that he thought the banning of taking pics in the park was understandable due to the present climate - he suggested that the person who had been refused permission should have asked for a one to one interview about his 'special' case.

I did , of course point out all the piccies of people and children published in the paper [ about 6 pages IIRC !! ] and wondered aloud, how many of the subjects had given permission for their pictures to be taken and then published.

Needless to say I got nowhere , though he did promise to raise this concern with the Council .

Till then - no pictures should be taken in the local parks in case you inadvertently photograph another human being . WONDERFUL

Oh dear Tech !!

What a load of blustering, petty, pomposity ( I was going to say Bo**ocks and remembered you were a lady !! ).These people do not desrerve to be in control of anything more complex than a sand castle , they are the epitome of the sort of people who came to prominence in Germany in 1936 onward and we know what happened there !

Time I think for us each to get a photocopy of the Telegraph article and stand on the steps of our respective councils and shoot away ( Pentax not Walther PPK I hasten to add ! )and see what occurs...............
Now there`s an idea for a comp - rude gestures !!

It's great isn't it

And of course he had to admit he was unaware of the guy being banned from taking his hobby pictures . I did of course in my verbal rant say I was not concerned because he was wheelchair bound or a retired BBC employee

Would I bring those into it ? I was concerned because we were being treated like imbeciles who didn't know how to behave .

I did make sure I rubbed it in that they had effectively told a disabled person he couldn't do that there here

Stupid officialdom - and now having been inspired to go and look at the local Cemetery which does have some interesting headstones , now I'm debating as to whether photography of them is permitted - is it a Public place ? It is owned by the Council after all.

BTW Tony - with the language I have used at times when provoked , and the fact that I once ranted at someone for 20 minutes [ a 16 yr old boy who said I was a woman and therefore of no consequence ] without [ I'm told ] repeating myself once I'm not sure anyone would consider me to be a 'lady '

TT, we could arrange a 'flash mob' to sneak around the park with dirty raincoats and long lenses taking surreptitious pictures of each other.

Another flash mob idea:

One or more of you pretend to be Z-list celebrities, the rest find the biggest lenses and flashes they can find and do their best paparazzi impressions!

I resemble that remark Matt - I AM a Z list celebrity and have no need to pretend - see photo above - Grand daughter thought I was cool ( or at least gave the impression ) ......................

Am I odd in that I actually don't want people in my photos?

I'm fed up with carefully lining up a shot only to find that it contains some twonk in a bright orange plastic mac (or their lurid yellow alleged car which they've managed to park smack in the middle of the frame for anyone shooting that landscape)! They don't exactly help my attempts to make the location look remote and wild...

Not really Matt - I do agree with you - apart from "record" shots of my little munchkin and her parents,or my lady wife when she allows me,I really prefer anything without people in it.

Give me a rusty railing or a Nigella bloom any day !

On the whole I'm the same [ ignoring the shots I took of Raymond during his illness - they were intended as a record and now much cherished ] - I much prefer shots that do not include people , unless they are necessary to the shot
