I have had experiences on this forum where people can be abrupt.I am not singling out Nathan but other users.
It seems to me on this forum there are a small faction of people who do not like pentax being slated.
I myself love Pentax but if there have been areas of let down in terms of customer service' equipment and the like i for one would like to know about them.
I know on this forum some of the users have had an awful time using Pentax customer service and also some have had a great experience.I feel this topic does need talked about further.
I still overall find this forum very friendly and beleive we should be able to talk about anything we wish to.
It is not my intention to slate John but i do think it's wrong to have only one man in charge so to speak. If there were more than one in the future'if a moderator found something he didn't like then he could ask the others what they thought.
It is not my intention to annoy or provoke anyone .Just my opinion

You are under a misapprehension if you believe there is only one Moderator on this site.
I also did actually take some impartial advice as well, as I agree it's very important to be fair. A second opinion is always nice when there are tricky decisions to make.

In this case it was not so severe, but still out of order. That's what moderation is for and in future it can be discussed I think by PM rather than in public. If I reinstated the post so we could all see it would not be a good thing to do, and you might not like it much.
May I suggest to every one who feels the need to form a opinion and post it, first have a very careful look at the quote above ? And try to read and understand what John is saying? With respect, you cannot judge a post that you haven't read.

Because I honestly don't understand why being an Italian has something to do with the original discussion. I have read (as one of the very few, as it turns out) the post that has been removed, and again IMO it was a wise decision by John. The post was unfriendly, out of order and out of context. And ended with a totally unnecessary personal remark. A remark that more than likely would have resulted in a very heated reaction.(understandable , I think.) With that in mind and preventing worse John has done the right thing.
And in case you didn't notice: This thread is still up and running.
Martin.

the point i made about different countries having different temperaments is just that. Americans are renowned for being a bit over the top. English for being a bit cold hearted by comparison. Wasnt meant to offend but just stating the fact that different origins have different traits.

On other forum's there are a least three plus moderator's on at any one time, and there names are at the bottom of every page incase they are needed or need to be contacted..

We move in shadows.....
Ever met Mattmatic? Ever met PentaxDan? And the man in charge is, not me I'm afraid, but Pete.
I might be the one who's around most, or maybe just the loudest. I wish I were the richest....

I think thats a fair point ttk has said. Perhaps it would be good to have it shown who is a mod incase of problems.

You will find that we are all identified as "Pentax User Team" so the information is freely available.
You can also look at the Admin Team list, actually labelled Pentax User Team but I don't think Matt and I are on that section.
Alternatively any problems can be put into a report.
There are plenty of avenues to communicate with the Team, and the Team are always happy to hear from you.

I mean if someone new joined now. How would they search to find out who is mods and who is not?
I think its because this isnt a typical forum software is it? If it was phpbb/vbulletin/ipb or smf it would tell you at the bottom

Generally speaking I think new members will soon pick that up, but if it ever becomes an issue I'm sure that it can be addressed.
