STOP CLOSING MY POSTS!!!

Dear John,

I understand that you might not like my 'aggressive' writing. It is sometimes misunderstood by other members.

Had I said something offensive, then there would have been every reason for closing the post. But I haven't. As I have NEVER done in the past.

I am a 26 year old opinionated italian with a Masters in Education. I know how to control my writing, and I am fully capable of conducting a polite conversation.

THe 'Moderator' role doesn't allow anybody to make a judgment on somebody else unless this person has been explicitly offensive. Alike, establish that a conversation is getting out of control before it does.

Everybody understands rules of conduct of this forum, preemptive correction is NOT something acceptable in a community like this, in my opinion.

Nathan

P.s. - Next time, how about closing some of the topics that throw rubbish on Pentax, rather than one that shows support and tells of a good experience.

p.s.s. - Amin, I agree with you, but I can't put a smiley at the end of my post...

Actually, I can see John's point here. Nathan pointed out that service had moved to a different organisation and that the, for his experiance, is a very positive step forward. Then history has moved on and we are in a new world, give that a chance. We don't talk about how good the K10D is any more do we?

No, but those topics are still open, that's the point.

piotro put in that thread 'I may have a few words to add under this subject in near future' so how can the topic be fully explored?

This just really sounds like overkill to me, and if this is a genuine reason to lock a thread, surely several threads would have to be locked every day as soon as there is a disagreement?

I agree, that thread shouldn't have been closed. I didn't see anything in there that justified closing it.

Nathan, you are assuming that locking a post was directed at you. Just suppose for a moment that it wasn't and a whole new view opens up.

After all, why would anyone on a Pentax User site stop a discussion praising Pentax service? They wouldn't would they?

Now if you were being stopped from having a discussion, then this thread would certainly have been stopped on many forums.
Best regards, John

Ooops, what happened to my comment and Bob's one that was in the thread just a few minutes ago? Been fumigated from the thread I think. I am lost here, I am sure I did click "Add Comment" at the end of it and now I don't see it here anymore.

Does this mean it wasn't suitable for the forum?

Totally lost now

Chris, this is still a friendly forum, we are just having a difference of opinion, that's all, but discussing it in a very civilised manner.

Chris, this IS a friendly forum.

John, please, try to understand what i'm telling you here, and stop turning it around.

I am not assuming anything at all, and this whole thing has got NOTHING to do with me. I will therefore reiterate the important points.

The behaviour seen here is of a very common nature in today's world. I HATE censorship - and as I fight for many other lost causes, I will fight for this one!!!

I am sure there wasn't anything offensive in those comments, unless I am missing something here.

Well, I have read the now missing post of Bob.(and up till now the only justifiable reason to close this thread IMO) It was a bit over the edge and getting very personal. The added smiley at the end didn't justify the content. Again....IMO. But, as it is deleted, either by moderate intervention or the author himself , lets count to ten, take a deep breath and move on.

On a personal note, I don't understand the need or reason for closing the other thread, also.

martin.

edit: Typo
Best regards,

Martin.

I think we should, its a bloody good camera and I'm keeping mine.
Infact I am still undecided as to whether I need a K-7 .. well actually I'm not because I know I dont need a K-7 .. but then that usually doesn't stop me .. the wife does.
