I don't know what SRS put on eBay, but they charge a fair price to us via the web.

It's like everything else, you price for the particular market you are in. Sometimes the advertised prices in AP are different too (usually higher.

Now we are aware of the choice we can look into it and take advantage if we wish to.
Best regards, John

Their prices on Ebay are usually a little more expensive once you take off the free postage to forum members (they only seem to do buy it now).

They do sometimes put clearance items on there though which are not usually on their web site, I presume the Sigma 2X converter was cheap because it doesnt work correctly with the new 70-200mm HSM so they will be bringing out a new version.
Nice price for me though, works well with the older version of the lens ...

El Dingo,

Ebay = £99 + postage versus buying from SRS directly = £95 incl postage.

Still think ebayers get a better deal?

Well, the initial figures were £99 and £175 as quoted by Mike-P, hence my question. So, yes, on that evidence it would seem that Ebayers get better deal.

What I learn from this is, that rather than believe the quoted web price I should first check to see if it's cheaper on Ebay.

I think John gets it right when he says "Now we are aware of the choice we can look into it and take advantage if we wish to."

After being let down by Jessops, I ordered my camera and extra lens from SRS yesterday afternoon and they were in my hands this morning.
Fantastic service.

Had a weekend in Watford with the family, harry potter on the Friday. And a little trip to the pentaxian mothership that is SRS on the Saturday
The service in store is as good as I expected, and it was good to finally put a face to the voice on the phone. And they only managed to take £30 off of me, which was nice
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.
