Matt - this is a good friendly community, your bombastic attitude hasn't endured you to anyone...Your constant sniping at SRS won't stop the majority of forum members continue to do business with them... Admit it - you are in the MINORITY

mattp, you can be assured that those of us who like to deal with SRS do so for good reason.
My personal experience is with a DA* 16-50mm lens which they have replaced twice due to well documented focussing issues, without question.
SRS has helpful and knowledgeable staff and they sell the products we like at prices we like. On the rare occasions that there is a problem with a purchase, they sort it, as they did in your case.
Your perceived experience was different based upon your expectations and, dare I say, impatience. I'm sure your refund would have been dealt with soon enough for most of us.
Companies like SRS cannot possibly please all of their customers all of the time. Enjoy your shopping experiences at Curry's and Jessops, just don't expect much in the way of informed opinion from either of them.
EDIT: Following on from your previous post, we all need to grow up at some point. When the time is right for you, you'll be welcome back. When circumstances dictate, we can be a forgiving bunch, but you might have to grovel a bit

Funny how quickly your attitude has changed Matt. On November 30th you were saying what a friendly lot we are, and now we are the devil's spawn.
If you were to take a less aggressive stance in your postings maybe you would again see the friendly side of us.
We are all merely saying that our experiences with SRS are different to yours. No bias involved, just our experience. That yours was different is a shame, but that doesn't make SRS a bad company to do business with.
It seems we are friendly as long as we agree with you, and are unfriendly and biased and every other negative thing you have called us, when we choose to disagree with you. It's a forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether we agree with it or not.
Either accept that fact and become a normal member, or don't accept it and go away.

What brick wall?
On Sunday the 8th October 2006 I place an order worth £186.78 with UKDVDR Ltd. Some of the goods were damaged and they were all returned and vanished into a black hole. After several months of inactivity I contacted Consumer Direct NE who gave advice and supplied the letters to commence legal action. Letters of the impending court action were sent to UKDVDR Ltd and my Bank. I had been in touch with City Link at Director level in preparation of the court action. The issue of the final letter did the trick and my money was refunded on the 7th March 2007, although I was left out of pocket by about £13.Consumer Direct NE offered to help in recovering the £13 but I just wanted to forget my worst online shopping experience ever.
That is a brick wall.
At the moment I am trying to get a credit of £120 refunded from AOL and I think this will beat UKDVDR.

"What is it about Pentax users?
They are just sooooooooo friendly.
Everyone here just seems so nice and willing to help.
I have been on a few slr forums recently and they are just so bitchy, snobby and downright unpleasant. (talkpho***raphy cough cough)

Hmm, well I must say that was quite a good natured exchange on the whole, so I think it does demonstrate perfectly well that the forum community here is a friendly one!
It's quite clear that there are different points of view and that they can all be put forward!

I cant beleive the post i've started here didnt mean for anyone to fall out with each other .Sorry to jump on the bandwagon mattp but my experience with srs was superb considering i was going to spend around £500 i was a little scared. Not many retailers would refund an item that there is nothing wrong with just because it felt small in your hands the pentax k100 is one of the entry level cameras and so you would expect be compact for an slr camera like say the nikon d40(yuk yuk) or canon eos400(yuk yuk).I am not meaning to get on your case but when purchasing a camera i really do my home work and would never part with my hard earned cash if i didnt Just speaking from my own experience thanks for listening..

I have had nothing but great service from SRS over the years.
For example: I was to photograph my Brother-in-law's wedding over in Olso and about 2 weeks before I was due to leave my flash failed! A quick trip to Langley and they confirmed it was beyond economical repair and spares could take a month!
Called in at SRS and ordered a AF-360FGZ which would take a week or so. I went to collect it paid but decided to check it before leaving (6th sense!) and found mounting broken off!
SRS went out of their way to get a replacement from Pentax - and even offered to pay my train fares from home to the store. The new one arrived in time and they remained in the shop until 30 minutes after closing so I could get there to collect it.
Would any ebay seller: 1. believe you if you said it was damaged on receipt? 2. pull out all the stops to get a replacement. 3. offer to pay your extra costs in returning a damaged item and collecting a replacement (if they had one) 4. be flexible to allow you to collect? 5. Allow you to return an item if you change your mind.
ebay or SRS - not too hard to answer and yes it may cost a little more but in time and over several purchases the overall cost will be less.

Actually SRS are on Ebay so you can choose either.ebay or SRS - not too hard to answer and yes it may cost a little more but in time and over several purchases the overall cost will be less.
I wanted a Sigma EX 2X teleconverter for my used Ebay purchased Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 and saw SRS were selling them on Ebay for only £99 plus postage whereas their web site quotes £175.
I sent Chris a PM via this site and got the same thing for £95 incl delivery to my UK address.
Arrived next day as well ... excellent service.
Have since sent another PM enquiring about the K20D GPS and had a reply within minutes saying he will let me know as soon as they arrive.

This disparity between SRS web and Ebay pricing could be a source of irritation... I don't use Ebay, so did I pay too much last time?
Edit - I'm not trying to wind anyone up here - this is a serious question. Maybe I need to get an Ebay account and 'play the system'? I like SRS because they are competitive and give good service. I'd be disappointed to learn that Ebayers get a better deal out of SRS than web/shop purchasers.

For the record, I don't have a problem with anybody using the distance selling regs to return items they don't want. It's a fact of life if you're an online retailer. SRS actually refunded you much quicker than they needed to under the strict letter of the regulations, so you should be grateful for that.
What I have a problem with, is the 14 phone calls you said you made? What are you on?! You returned the item, and then harrassed them by the sounds of it! They had 28 days to refund you, and I wouldn't have blamed them if they had taken every last day of it to do so.
I also have to say that telling all the people who've had good experiences with SRS have somehow been hallucinating is also quite insulting. They are a good store, and very helpful, and we can't all be in the pay of them!
This forum is a very friendly place, but some people fail the 'attitude test' from day one. Maybe you just need to grow up?
