Since Dad never posts here, I'll report his for him.
A 50-135 blew its SDM and fell back to screw drive, when we had the lens repared we discovered that the camera's (A K10D) SDM drive workings were also knackered so that had to go in for repair too. No idea if it was coincidence or if one component blew up and took the other with it, but both ended up in the shop.

Thanks for your response, much appreciated. Were they under warranty or not and how much was the repair if not covered and how long did the repair(s) take?
So far you are the only report of faulty SDM, but there are 2 failure reports.

If not, we have an anonymous post.

I did request that people identify the lens if they had a failure. Would appreciate no anonymous "No" responses, "Yes" responses don't need identification, though it is appreciated if you do.

Best regards

DA* 16-50mm, DA* 50-135mm and DA* 60-250mm .. no failures.
Saying that the last 2 are only a few months old anyway, the 16-50mm was bought used off Ebay but has hardly been used.

If you have an SDM lens (or several), please can you answer the poll and if you had any failure(s), post which lens or lenses.
Please, this is for SDM failures only.
I will kick it off with my "No"
Many thanks.
