55-300 lens with K-x kit

Had the DA 55-300mm for a year and preferred it to the Sigma 70-300mm.

I have had the Sigma 70-300, and now have Tom's 55-300. There is no comparison, the 55-300 wins hands down.

The 55-300 may be the cheapest version of the lens Pentax do but it's better than my Tammy 70-300, therefore also better than the sigma.
I'd go for it.
After all, you can always sell on here if you don't like.

Don't go for the Sigma. I have one and it is rubbish. The IQ is good when it works, but there is the issue "When it works"

I had both lenses, the Sigma was the macro version and one of my daughters now has it for her K110D. In my mind the Pentax 55-300 is far superior.

Well, I think 'ask the audience' has been very effective. thank you all. So I will get the 2 lens kit and sell my old sigma 70-300 with the x4 macro.
