I noticed a colleague of mine using his camera for work purposes recently... Blew me away when I saw it was a Pentax... Only Pentax user I know!

A Pentax user spotting another Pentax user is like a twitcher spotting a Capercaillie in Hyde Park. Magazine covers adorned with Canon and Nikon will promote Pentax entering the endangered species list.

I saw two near to York Minster this morning - a K30 in a fetching burgundy and a K-r in black.
As normal I lost count of the Canons and Nikons.
Cheers

I think I've spotted more Leicas than Pentaxes lately.

It's been a while since I last saw a Pentax in the wild, but at least I'm seeing them in shops again. It seems that Pentax had good reason to release the 560mm, it makes it easier for us to get shots of other Pentax users
In order to stop double-counting, maybe we need PU caps (or better still straps) or some secret gesture?

We were in North Wales this weekend and I saw a chap in Criccieth with a Pentax around his neck.
I saw a guy with an MX film camera at Ladybower earlier this month but before that the last time I saw a Pentax in the wild was in Castleton last year.
Not being one of the crowd though is great, I would however not be adverse to there being a few more of us.

I usually see a few during the (Edinburgh) festivals in the summer, saw a bunch last year during the jazz festival in particular.
Regards marketing and advertising, as mentioned with Sony, Pentax maybe wasting their time.
I'd say 'build it and they will come', and I'd optimistically speculate the K30 & K5 are quietly doing just that.

You can't. As soon as the second person joined you'd have to rename the group

Saw a Kr and an X5 while at the Harry Potter studio tour thing at the weekend and a pentax lens strap round the neck of a fella near SRS, don't know what he had on the end of it though.
One day you'll find, 10yrs have got behind you.

Maybe all of us on the forum could visit the same beauty spot on the same day - we'd then spot lot's of other Pentax users and imagine the look on Canon / Nikon owner's faces when they see they are out numbered!

Back in the 70s & 80s it was like that.
