I get what you mean Steve, for flipping open the screen and agree but what I'm getting at is that raised edge in close proximity to the left hand button on the D-pad. Now this is supposition on my part but going back to my X-T1 saga it too has recessed buttons (Buttonery, new word for John!) pushed up against the screen and it drove me wild because you just could not guarantee actuation of that button, ok well at least I couldn't. I'd like to have seen a bit of a cut out next to the D-pad or at least some sculpting of that beefy LCD frame to make using the D-pad more intuative but I admit I could just be spit balling here as "The proof of the pudding is in the eating" and all that...

Touch screens look be useful for directing autofocus during video, but pentax doesn't do that well so no big loss there.

Personally i really would like a touchscreen for reviewing photos. The pinch and zoom method is quick and intuitive now.

As always you would need to be able to do this a manual way with buttons for extreme weather situations.

As mentioned above, you can't give it all on a product, and you need to be saving something for the k-s3. That assumes the k-s1 debacle doesn't get its own version 2. The k-S2 reads to me very much like a k-50 update rather than having much at all in common wth the k-s1

My thumb is always on the rear e-dial for zooming in during review, I have no desire to grease-up my camera LCD just to look at photos. Neither do I want to jab at the screen to change settings, I want dials and buttons which have tactile feedback and substance. Again, finger prints all over the screen is not what I'd call very smart.
We were taught NEVER to touch a computer screen. I spent years teaching my son and his friends to NEVER touch a computer screen. The advice in computer magazines and books on correct computer usages included not touching screens. It was incredibly bad form and very rude to touch someone elses screen. Then the manufacturers turn around and make 'touch screens' for heavens sakes.
It's just mind numbing...

I was looking forward to a touch screen. I would never use it for changing settings, just for live view and video refocus. I've used the Canon 70D and that feature is great plus the camera can be fully utilised without prodding the screen at all. Is it too much to ask just for that feature so people who want it can have the option? I bet they would sell more to the "smartphone crowd" the K-S1 was originally aimed at. A touchscreen DSLR with a collapsible kit lens would be a great starter camera for someone wanting to get into iLC photography who has come from just using phones. Just my 2p

Actually in stock now, at B&H in the states, won't be long here then, I'm actually quite excited to try one out, 12 bit capture is a downer for me but I'm still interested though, even if I am waiting for the K3 MKII...

Week after you give in and buy a K-S2 Algi

Looks like the camera for the fondle slab generation hasn't even got mirror lock up during exposure .... It would have only confused them anyway .... mirrors are for selfies... Right!
