When using the Flucard it's the browser you use that's critical, not the platform. It has to be either Chrome or Safari. Personally I use Chrome.

Hi Vic,
Any memory card (never mind a flu) works with my tablet via a cheap usb card reader I plug in. HDMI cable can be used to a laptop/pc direct from camera of course as long as it has hdmi in for live view tethering. I don't think you can use usb for this, Others may know.
For wireless Ricoh image synch seems to be limited to certain models? K1, KS2, K70 etc http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/download/app/image-sync/
My Canon compact has similar android wifi software, so much simpler.
HDMI cable can be used to a laptop/pc direct from camera of course as long as it has hdmi in for live view tethering.

Thanks Bill. It looks like the way forward is a simple card reader with a Micro USB plug on the end. It means taking the card out of the camera which is what I wanted to avoid and just look at the photos on the larger screen of the tablet there and then. Does a FLU card send a (wi-fi)???? signal??????. I'm not interested in tethering, just instant viewing.

It lists ios and android apps on the link page I posted earlier. Is this different to for the flu card?

Image Sync works with the built in camera Wi-Fi with the phone logging on to the camera's local Wi-Fi hot spot. Nothing to do with the flu card which was their earlier method of transferring photos.
The new Wi-fi system leaves both camera card slots free for memory cards whereas the Flu card takes up one of them.
Image sync is a full remote control for the camera and it should display the image from the Live View screen on the phone, only that image is missing. Ideally you could tap the subject on the phone's screen and that would be set as the focus point. It would be good if it worked!

I get everything on my phone except the live picture. instead I get a black screen.

Yes, exactly the same. I'm sure it did work when I tried it just after getting the K-1, but since then Android has been updated so suppose that is where the issue lies.
Originally I seem to remember the app struggled to communicate properly and wouldn't accept the SSID code. At least that seems OK now.

I'm slightly confused with this. I have a K3 which isn't listed as being compatible with the Image Sync App but the blurb says that with a flucard the K3 can be operated through a smartphone. Am I missing something here? I want to be able to view the image seen by the camera on a smart phone but I intend to use an extension lead with the remote release to make the exposure.

Basically the more recent cameras, i.e. The K-1, K-S2 and K-70 have something like the flucard built in whereas previously it was on an SD card and took up one the of camera SD card slots. I believe Flucard Pro is the correct app for the older models with a Flucard and Image Sync for the newer models with W-Fi built in.
This thread was started as Image Sync (not Flucard Pro) fails to display the live view image in the app.
It would probably be best to start a separate thread for the Flucard and its dedicated app as this thread was started for Image Sync and subsequently got at cross purposes. No wonder confusion has set in.
People are asking about Image Sync and being told about Flucard Pro and possibly vice versa!
