Pentax-F 1.7X AF ADAPTER

Hi everyone

I have been looking for one of these Teleconverters, so if anyone has it and wants to sell or knows where I can get hold of one please drop me a line.

There's one on ebay, right now. - Ending tomorrow evening, under Manual focus Pentax lenses. Currently, £136.
They usually go for about double that, though.

Thanks Scott, got my eye on that one, fingers cross hopefully will come my way. I have a limit but am not prepared to pay over the odds though, so I am hoping its within range.

is this the same one Scott mentioned? this one is currently on £165. I did a search on Manual focus pentax lenses and didnt come out with anything, if its on a different sale could you give me the link please?

Yes - That's It. Same one.

I just snared one of these off E-bay, The seller had 2 SFXn cameras + 2 lenses SMC F 70-210 and an SMC F 28-80 + a Metz flash. He never mentioned the the AF 1.7x adapter. When I saw the somewhat blurry pic I suspected it was the 1.7X adapter, so I bid on it, and won it as the only bidder, got the lot for £100

So this adapter will AF with all my auto focus lenses :

With that huge sigma why do you want the TC Clarky? I know someone who has a DA*300 and is eager go get his hands on one .
Did you get it in mint conidition? Goshhh that was quite a price you got, for the whole lot

I did'nt really want the TC, or the cameras for that matter, I just stumbled across it while browsing and only 1hr left to run. It was to good an oportunity to pass up.

I am planning to give it a go on my DA*300
It appears to be in excellent condition, but I haven't used it yet.
The 2 SMC lenses are also in very condition and I may keep them to use on my MZ6

If I don't come to grips with it and decide to sell, I will give you first refusal on it.

Mark Cassino uses one of these with a SMC A* 400mm f2.8 here's a link to a page that also takes you to some sample photos. Search for 1.7x on the page.

I've got one of these that I've hardly ever used, because I don't really have any suitable lenses. I'll have to try it on the Rikenon 300mm APO f/4.5.

Would you in the near future be looking to get rid of yours?
I would rather get it from someone here in the forum, would give me a more reassuring feel of its quality and condition than from ebay, and you also mention yours having been hardly used, so must be in mint condition. If there is a prospect of that then I will not bid for that one going on ebay. I have even emailed the seller asking that despite what he mentions that its in good condition would he informally go as far as saying its in mint condition, and he has not responded yet.

I don't think that particular TC is SDM compatible.
I may be wrong though.

You mean the SMC Pentax-F 1.7X AF ADAPTER? If it is this one then there are some who have been using it with the DA*300. They just put the lens to M and let the adapter focus it. Of course it might lose the SDM function but aparently you can use normal focusing.

No i'm sure it is not SDM compatible but maybe normal auto focus. I will give it a try.
