Amin, I'll let you know this afternoon. I only ever tried it with a 50mm lens for about an hour, so it is mint and the case is mint. I didn't keep the box and don't know where the leaflet is (but that can be printed from the PDF).
I've just tried looking through the 400mm on the K10 and the viewfinder stays bright. The AF is amazing because I can focus as a MF lens and then press the AF button and it focuses or tweaks as AF. It won't cover the full range of focus as AF, but I can MF roughly and then tweak. So it's very fast and it has no trouble with my f/4.5 lens. Even at 200m the AF works.
There's no pass through drive for AF and it does say in the manual that AF lenses will operate the same as 'A' Series lenses, which means the AF will be done by the moving elements in the converter. It has pass through for all the electric contacts though.
I only just noticed in the manual that it also works with my MEF 35-70mm f/2.8 lens which is a very sharp lens (even wide open) so I'll have to try that as well, before I make my mind up.

That's very helpful. I would definitely prefer to buy it off you if you decide to sell it. Afternoon would be great as the bidding on the one in ebay ends in 9 hours, so if you decide not to get rid of it then I will get into the bidding.
I got the DA*300 and when I got the lens I went through a long deciding process between the sigma 150-500 and the DA*300 but I just couldn't be bothered with the weight and the size of the sigma. So went for the DA*300 and decided to look for the pentax 1.7 TC.
Drop me a PM with your decision this afternoon if possible then.
Thanks again for your help on this.

I've tried it out on the 300mm f/4.5 Rikenon and it works perfectly, not bad considering that Pentax state that it's only suited for up to f/2.8. I also tried it on the MEF 35-70 f/2.8 zoom and for the first time in years it's able to autofocus. It's completely transparent on this lens, but the focal length is now 50-120mm and I have other lenses that cover that range and I doubt if I would have much use for a 500mm Rikenon, so I may as well let Amin have first refusal on it.
Amin I'll send you a PM
Here's a crop of a shoot with the 35-70mm unsharpened, actually I just pressed print screen and converted the BMP to JPG.... seem to have captured the cursor as well. This was taken at f/2.8 Nice bokeh as well, not so much on this shot as on the others.

Hi Mike, were already close to posting the converter tomorrow. I was telling Amin in a PM what made me decide to sell was that I bought a GX20 body today on ebay for £400 from this seller link supposed to have a 2 year guarantee and be in a sealed box. I might send Play.com a claim for the extra £100 and see what happens I missed two of them with the kit lens (probaly Mk1) off the same seller by only a few pounds at about £410 so I really paid over the odds for just the body, but the sun is beginning to shine and I want a new camera. He still has a few kits going through if anyone wants one aim for £410 with lens. A dealer bought one last night for £420May be interested if Amin passes it up.

I wonder if any of those original 35-70mm lenses still work? They almost never come up on fleabay.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Probably hoarded by collectors. You see a lot of bad reviews probably from people who have never used them. Most complaints seem to be about the focusing, but in practice to go from 10m to infinity involves 10mm of movemement so not really a problem, you could I suppose disconnect or remove the internal drive gears. One of the sharpest lenses ever made and it peaks at f/2.8, because being the first AF lens it had to be very good wide open. It was probably manufactured before the body so they may have gone slightly OTT. Having such high contrast as well the AF (K10D green light) works better with this than any other lens. Very good for holding as well because of the flat bottom and it never rolls off the table for the same reason shim wrote:
