I can't answer the questions although I can completely echo them - I have been umming and ahhing about one of these lenses for a while and at the moment it's just too expensive. However, I really like the idea of having a weather sealed lens which offers focal lengths between 50mm and 300mm...(my current weather sealed capabilities). I have other lenses with SDM/HSM internal AF motors (the DA* 300mm and the sigma 120-400mm) and have not found the AF to be too frustrating...

If I had the money, I'd snap it up at that price!

Well I have decided to keep mine over the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 DC EX HSM II (which I will be selling on the forum). Saying that, there isn't much in it.
So Mike, what was the issue with the difference between them?Well I have decided to keep mine over the Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 DC EX HSM II (which I will be selling on the forum). Saying that, there isn't much in it.

To be honest the only thing making me keep the Pentax is the weather sealing ... apart from that I would happily use the Sigma (especially considering the price difference in the UK now).
So Mike, what was the issue with the difference between them?

DO I NEED ONE?
Who has one and swears by it?
Is the AF going to spoil it for me?
Looked at some prices on line and it ain't cheap in the UK.
These ARE serious questions.

Probably my most used lens - I would never part with it.
