Pentax 10-17 every time, it's the best FE out there.
EDIT - It will not overlap your Sigma 10-20, it has a completely different usage and FOV, even if you defish a 17mm shot, it's about equal to a 14mm rectilinear, at 10mm (not de-fished) it covers a 180 deg FOV, the Sigma at 10mm cover around 108 deg, that's a huge difference.

Agree with Richard re the Pentax 10-17. Funs lens but completely different to Pentax's 12-24, even when at it's widest - and same goes for the Sigma 10-20. Note the old Pentax K series FE is a 17mm - there are both 15mm and 18mm non FE ultra wide angle lens - all built like the proverbial brick out houses.
Not all very wide angle lens are FEs - only those described as such.

Thanks both for your input.
Well - I obviously didn't need that much convincing! Opened up SRS but I swear the price increased from 329 to 469 before my eyes - it's even still at 329 on the search page. I guess they must have sold the last of their lower price stock? Typical - I ponder something for ages and the price increases. Luckily I spent an hour last night pricing up all the lenses I mentioned. Found the 10-17 at Clifton camera for 350. Should be on it's way soon
Thanks for re-assuring me on the overlap. I love the wide end of my 10-20 and though it can seem soft at times - it's worth it for the impact a wide shot can give. I can't wait to get out and experiment with the fisheye.
Cheers both - and thanks for the help!

More worried about my ever increasing belly than my shoes!
Ah well - the fish eye will give me an excuse to get more exercise...

I had skimmed through the classified ads - but obviously missed that one. Unfortunately Clifton has already taken the cash and will (hopefully) be packing it soon.
Thanks anyway!

Hi Owen,
You will love the fish!
Wonderfully made and tiny.
Mine only gets limited use, but when the right subject is there I get some really nice pics.
Totally different to the 12-24, which again is excellent for landscape work.
Kind regards
Graham

Thanks all
The lens arrived yesterday. It's now a christmas present and the wife has decided to hide it after this weekend so I've got a few days to try it out. Wont see it til we go to Geneva for Christmas
Did fire off a few shots in the car - the angle of view is very impressive - this is gonna be a fun lens!
Thanks Again
Owen

I've been thinking about a fisheye for a while - I was holding off for the Sigma 4.5 circular but having now seen the price, I'm thinking something cheaper maybe in order. With all the recent fisheye excitement - I'm not sure I can hold off much longer (I can at least start hinting at christmas presents to the wife!).
Given unlimited resources - which would you go for from the following?
Sigma 4.5mm Circular f2.8
Sigma 10mm Diagonal f2.8
Pentax 10-17 f3.5-4.5
Sigma 8mm f3.5
Sigma 15mm f2.8 Diagonal
The Pentax seems popular - and it's a good price (but for how long?. But I already have the Sigma 10-20 and though I know the angle of view will be increased in the fisheye - i'm still tempted to go wider.
What do you guys and gals think?
Thanks for any kind of input!
Owen
