Mine is also not WR.?? I think that they have dropped a clanger on the Web page. What was shown WAS the WR lens. More importantly, the 50-135 is OK.
I have sent them an email just now.
So once I get back at Xmas, its either Waxoil or clingfilm, then its WR.

I swear by sdm. I've gotta 16-50 and it's a weapon. Absolutely faultless. If i had they cash i'd love to accompany the 16-50 with the 50-135. Go on, do it. You'll find unbeatable prices on ebay through prodigital 2000. They are a very reliable co. in canada. I get a stack of stuff though em and pay half the european prices

On a GX10 you'll notice no difference between the MK1 18-55 and the MK2 versions. Samsung, Pentax, same lens, but the MK2 was designed for the higher resolution capabilities of the K20D/GX20.

Peter you think very highly about the DA18-55 lenses I wonder why you have the DA16-45 or DA*16-50 since the DA18-55 is already using all the resolving power of the sensor so those lenses can't be sharper on a K10D On a GX10 you'll notice no difference between the MK1 18-55 and the MK2 versions. The DA18-55 is a tiny bit shaper in the centre but the big difference is in the corners, there is quite a lot of difference there between the two.

I don't agree with this at all. Even on my *ist D I could tell the difference between the 31mm and other quite sharp lenses.
It is a myth that having a sharper lens makes no difference on a smallish sensor.

Gary, get your wife to check your lens, I just checked mine just in case it was worth keeping and its not even a Mk 2 its a Mk 1
It checked Gareth. I did state in an email to them that I wanted the WR lens shown in the centre picture and not the MkII.I suppose that I should have known it would not be a WR lens as they WERE shedding their Pentax stock and probably have had these for quite a while.Gary, get your wife to check your lens, I just checked mine just in case it was worth keeping and its not even a Mk 2 its a Mk 1
Gareth, you will easily get your money back from them OR here as it's still worth 20 quid to some one who wants one.

Mine will probably go up for grabs. 20 quid for the WR was worth it as I didn't need the lens but would have let the original one go. Now I have two!!
Hmmmmmmm araldite, two zoom rings, twice the length?
Better still, leave the lens cap on and spray it red while its on my K10D. A Kx clone......

The DA 18-55mm kit lenses, MK1 & 2 are very capable lenses. I still own a MK1 version but it sits in its box unused. I also had, then sold, a MK2 version. The DA16-45mm lens beats them both for image quality and the DA*16-50mm is in a different league altogether. Both the 16-45 and 16-50 are also constant aperture zooms, which I prefer.Peter you think very highly about the DA18-55 lenses I wonder why you have the DA16-45 or DA*16-50 since the DA18-55 is already using all the resolving power of the sensor so those lenses can't be sharper on a K10D
RE. my comment about their respective resolving capabilities, I was quoting sales blurb from Pentax from when they introduced it. I have very little experience of the two 18-55mm lenses. I've used the MK1 briefly before acquiring the 16-45mm, the MK2 version was sold in brand new, unopened condition.
Why have I got both 16-45 and 16-50mm lenses? I have a K10D & DA16-45mm kit in UK so that I don't have to waste my luggage allowance when I return. The 'big guns' are with me in Spain.

Wasn't attacking you Peter was only a bit surprised you said that you wont notice a difference between the two lenses because the K10D can't handle sharper lenses then the 18-55 MK1 kit lens.
Maybe it's the way I read it in combination with the way you worded it since I don't believe you meant that.
