I don't think it offends anyone, but I don't see any evidence for it either. When you see all the stuff that is coming out where do you see the downside?

KS-1, KS-2, 70-200mm, 150-450mm, QS-1, 560mm, 1.4x AW, K-3, 18-50mm AW,....and so on. All good stuff, extending the range.

What do you want to buy that isn't there?
Best regards, John

And don't forget the AF-360/540 FGZ II flashguns .... weather sealed now. Oh, and I did hear something about a new Full Frame camera .... probably just another one of those wishful thinking rumours!

I noticed there was no sign of the 'Q' range on the Pentax stand. I wonder if that says anything about the future of the little camera...

in my opinion john to slow the 70/200 an should have been with the k3
the 150/450 should have been and gone and should be on a par with tamron and sigma by now and up to 600

the KS-1 to me is a lash up the grip on it as to may edges to me you should not feel that edge in the grip to me its was a backward step
comfort is the key word for a camera in hand
(i have to admit that nikon are the same with there cameras not good)

a nice 135 150 and 180 dedicated macro would be nice

and if i remeber right some one as allready said pentax have no plans for the sporting /wildlife side of lenses
which then comes down to where are they going to get the new customers

thing is there is me having a winge but is there anyone at ricoh reading these forums and taking note

I was impressed with their Mr Saiki (?) who is the first exec from them I've heard able to articulate a clear strategy, with planning and division of the DSLRs into the two lines with a clear user base in mind. He certainly sounded as though he had been listening and gave a fair explanation of the thinking that determined the time-scales around the FF release ... yes, the 645z was part of the planning. But they wanted to make sure the market was ready for the FF without cutting too deeply into the 645z and APS-C markets.

Anyway, I have felt much more positive about the durability of the brand and continuing development and opportunities for expansion over the last 5-6 months than ever before since I bought into it over 3 years ago.

Just back from Monday's show and I wasn't very impressed by the Ricoh stand either. It seemed very bare and somehow down-market compared to lots of the others. Ricoh have lots to shout about so surely it's worth employing some decent set designers to make the stand have more pizzazz (is that how you spell it?)

I played around with the K3 and KS2 and was not approached by any reps at asking if I wanted further info. Come on lads - you need to do better. I've come away disappointed.

a studio set up would have been good with a couple of models and the k3 and 645z set up to take photos with some cheap small memory cards could be a good idea for people to try and take the memory cards away with them

you always have to be one up on your apponent

I was there Sunday about 11am and had no problems with the staff, the younger one said he had only been into Pentax for a couple of weeks though but he was happy to let me put some lenses from the wall case on my K3. The older one, i guess the boss? let me try the 150-450 over at the table even when i told him it was out of my league.

A small bonus with the show was Comic con next door, o' boy was there some strange one's there for a little foto opportunity

I have to agree on all counts, especially in view of the additional comments made by others who took greater note of what was NOT on show
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

More lens selection; definitely macro options. Sigma has considerably more lenses available outside of what is currently offered in PK.

More flash options. While the two (somewhat) higher end Pentax units aren't hurting all that much for most users (especially with the WR feature)... It would be considerably better to have the option of having the Quantum line (by far the best flash on the market for most any camera) that would also be a dedicated hot shoe.

What extra 'flash options' do you mean? The Pentax is a dedicated system with wireless P-TTL and light-based communication (using the built-in as trigger if you want .... very reliable and easy to get going). Third party systems do have the radio advantage but not the dedication. We do have the choice to use them if we want.

Maybe, next time, we make sure that our avatars show pics of who we really are - then we can easily recognise each other !
PS: I will update mine when I can find one that I can "live with" !
