Seriously wish I had enough gear to spare something! I've currently got four lenses (Soon to be five), none of which I want to part with because I'd just end up buying em again. I suppose if the K3 is really that good, I could eventually part with the K5IIs and grip, to get one but I want two bodies eventually, as I've pretty much had reliablility problems with every camera brand I've tried over the last five years. Best way to get a second body is to not sell the first one, which only leaves the grip as a possible spare part not much of a deposit really...

I am at this moment taking pictures of my Canon fit Sigma 50-500mm OS to post in the for sale thread on another forum. I want one but the only way to get it for the moment would be to part with my K5IIs BG4 and probably my 50-135, too high a price!
Cheers Jules...

I am making a presumption that Pentax have only now moved to this sensor because they believe that it is equal or better than the 16MP version, could be that they needed the last year to get to grips with dealing with the sensor output in the the Pentax way or there has been an improvement in the manufacturing process at Sony and the current revision has finally matched Pentax's standards.robbiec wrote:
This is looking more and more like a worthy flagship and fantastic partner to the magical optics available in our system. Bit depressed that I can be in Watford on Wednesday now. Looks like they've taken on board most of the typical long standing Pentaxian's wishlist. Improved AF, better sensor, dual cards, better processing and all the while keeping probably the best sized and ergonomically laid out Dslr on the market.

I am pretty confident though while at the same time keeping my fingers crossed.

If Panasonic cameras sport a great big LUMIX logo on the 'prism', why shouldn't Ricoh cameras use the PENTAX trademark in the same way? Plus on the lenses too. It makes marketing sense to me.
This goes back to the old days where Pentax was a trademark of the AOC, not the name of the company itself.

Fiat own Ferrari so why shouldn't they put a Fiat Badge
in the centre of the steering wheel
Also a big "Welcome to Fiat" mat would look good
at the entrance door to all Ferrari dealers

no mention of custom functions for expanded ISO, so looks like 1 stop less ISO at the top end than the K5. Otherwise pretty sweet, looking forward to seeing some reviews.

Had a quick glance .... What a machine! there's a lot to take in. I think the big surprise is new approach to the aa filter issue .... This has no filter but instead you can activate a kind of as filter simulator which uses subsonic vibrations. That's a new thing isn't it?
