I do wish Pentax would do away with the af-s/af-c/mf switch altogether and do it through the quick menu displayed on the rear screen like Canon. It really is so much less fiddly

I really hope they don't!!! I don't want to have to take the camera away from my eye to switch from AF to MF, thank you very much.
you don't have to be mad to post here

You can do it via menu or there is a button you press to cycle through the af options (which are displayed in the viewfinder)

I believe I could put up with that, still prefer the tactile feedback of a switch though.

If the photos real it looks like there is a switch for AF/MF and a button for AF mode

I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest the photo is a fake: look at the crude cut of the surface material around the bump. Surely even per-production models would be better constructed.

I'm not offering to eat my hat if wrong

Perhaps the bump is a new housing / location for the focus motor to provide space for a full frame mirror assembly.

Unfortunately this forum has no "go to last read post" facility so other posts are quite often overlooked, especially as the thread gets llonger.
