Has anybody read this weeks AP yet. Good test on K511, about time Pentax was reganised for how good they are.

Yes, not bad at all, although I felt the writer ran out of steam part way through.

Still the great unanswered question though - K-5 II or IIs?
Best regards, John

It's a paper, printed magazine and the review doesn't seem to have made it to their website yet.

Isn't it odd that Pentax charges more for a camera that has a bit missing?

Did they have to remove the AA filter, hence incurring additional labour charges, or did they just not put it in in the first place. If the latter, the K5IIS ought to be cheaper, surely.

I would think the sensor came with the aa filter attached, which they then had to remove, making it a premium product which attracts a higher price.

I've been comparing the studio test images on DPREVIEW of the three K5 cameras. The K5IIs images do seem a little sharper than the other two, but as it's 130.oo more expensive (SRS) I think I'll go for a K5II.

It's the AF improvements in low light that I'm interested in. If it proves to be as good as people say, I'll have wasted 800.00 on a Sigma 70-200mm lens when the DA* 60-250mm 1:4 I already had would do nicely.
