Argos of all people...they are usually very expensive on Pentax gear. Have to say i'm very tempted at that price...white isn't fantastic but it isn't that bad...in fact for that price i'd probably buy a dayglo orange one!

Are Argos in trouble and about to go under or are Pentax so desperate to clear stock that they are selling to non pro dealers at or below cost? The Amazon offer was unbelievably cheap but even that began with a £4xx. If I thought that SRS or another Pro dealer was going to be offloading them at £425-450 i'd hang on for their deal.

Other dilemma now is do you hang on to see if Argos offloads its K5II's at an equivalently silly price...say £550 - £600 for a K5II with 18-135.

Trying to bag a bargain never used to be this stressful!

Yes, thanks to the OP, I've also ordered one. I don't really need the body but thought If I sold the K-50 on ebay it would make a cheap way of getting the lens, which I do want for a trip to Iceland.

To buy the lens on it's own from Argos costs £70 more than the whole K-50 kit.

Does anyone know if purchasing from Argos qualifies for the Pentax Winter Cashback as well?

When I go to the Ricoh Pentax cashback site and click the link for where to buy I get an error saying the page no longer exists. The Ts&Cs state must be purchased from an offical Pentax stockist.

The cashback offer is open for purchases until the 10th, so should still be available. I don't think it's limited to Pro Centres so in theory Argos should qualify.

Won't the purchase date be the dispatch date? i.e. up to 21 days?
They don't take the money from your card until it's dispatched.
So I can't see it qualifying for cashback unless you can go and pay
for it at a store before the 10th.

It's a web only (home delivery offer) you can't have it sent to a store. They aren't in stock either hence the quoted 21 days.

I've just chatted online with them as well...out of stock for my postcode area (Northwich). I was advised to contact their marketing people to express my interest as they are trying to get extra stock in although it may not be at the same price! I did this anyway so i'll see what happens.

I'd actually be more interested in the K5II with 18-135 for about £500!! Will be interesting to see if any of the regular dealers complain about not getting any of these stocks.

The winter cashback page is still live, although getting a purchase date from Argos within 10th Jan may be a problem.
