Got my replacement from SRS today. Superb service. They arranged pick up on Monday and I got my replacement before 1000h today (Wednesday).

Pentax K-5 with D-GB4 Grip, to many lenses to mention by now (serious LBA by now), TC's, Lowepro Slingshot 300 AW, Manfrotto 028 & Redsnapper RS-283 with various Heads plus various Camera Clamps (I collect them). Pentax AF 360FGZ, Pentax AF 240FT, several Metz 45 CT-1 & 5 with stands and 'Blow Up' Soft Boxes, Flash Triggers, and various Macro gear.

I pity the guy at Pop Photo that got the unenviable task of writing a review of he k-5.... I'm sure his job is on the line, and it won't be easy to word it in such a way that Canon doesn't pull thier advertising....
I see the headlines now "Pentax has announced there is a stain issue with the K-5"
Canon has no such stain issues.
so we are going to have to knock off 100 points from Pentax's overall rating to bring it closer to Canons score....

Have Pop Photo reviewed the K-5 yet? They didn't give the Nikon with
the same sensor a very good review
They do normally give Pentax a decent write up, nearly all the lenses
I've seen reviewed have been highly rated, some higher than I thought

Yeah this kind of commercial politics severely devalued the reviews in the music equipment mags I used to used to read.Algernon wrote:

I have discovered what appears to be staind on my new K5 sensor it looks like four black blobs certianly not dust is there arny images I can compare mine with...apoligise if I have place this in the wrong area not used to forums as such
