K10D Info

We have had a few of the mythical cameras in with the rest due tomorrow. I have already phoned everyone who has got one from todays shipment and I will be on the phone to everyone else tomorrow.

Do I wait till Focus on Imaging as planned or do I ring SRS tommorow and see if they have any spare stock.

Cant bear to feel left out.

I'd say lend Chris your support... great service and always worth a trip to the shop for a chat. I've been using them for the last 7 or 8 years since my MZ5 days... easy for me to say tho as they're only 25 mins drive away!!!

Your probably right, he has been very helpful with info and updates, though knowing my luck they wont have any free stock, plus I was thinking of a Sigma 50-500 to go with it but SRS are about £40 dearer than Warehouse Express on the Sigma, And no I haven't won the lottery, I've just not bought anything since my istD three years ago, so I'm well overdue a treat.

I always maintain that there is more to buying a product than price alone. There are questions of service, backup, helpfullness and knowledge and all have a cost. So if you do find a reliable supplier that you like then a small premium in price may well be a good investment, although there is nothing to stop a little negotiation to help things along.

I paid maybe £25 more than I "needed" to for my 12-24mm lens, for example, but the other aspects of the deal more than made up for that and over the years that £25 will be long forgotten...

My K10D is coming from the local dealer in Lincoln. A bit more than the net but although they stock very little K mount, they are always happy to order and return if need be. To me, it is worth the extra for the service.

Morning all, as some of you are no doubt aware we are the UK distributors for Pentax and I thought I'd take this opportunity to say hi and inform you that we received the K10s yesterday and they should be in the shops over the next few days. If you have a body and lens kit on order somewhere your wait is nearly over if you're waiting for a body only then you should have it by the beginning of January if not sooner
