Getting close to the magical body + grip for under £1K. Actually, I expect they'd do it if you asked them nicely (Mike_P).

Hmm. Fullframe with the sensor from alpha 850? would be nice...

Reminds me of a cat at a friends house. That cat actually licked the barrel of a air rifle when you pointed it at him (without ammo offcourse!)

Maybe a K-7 mk2 with a high resolution version of the sensor that is inside the K-x.
People are actually buying the K-x over the K-7 now because of the superiour high iso performance.

I was hoping they were going to do it just before the end of the cashback but no such luck. I have my eye on something else at the moment.

Cheapest it is here for a Pentax NL K7 is € 899, which is just a tad cheaper than SRS. I see a lot of places no longer have it in stock though.

Something good coming at the PMA? Besides a full frame and/or a 645D I mean. Because there are people out there (me included) who have no interest in either but would (maybe) buy another APS-C camera.
Pentax would really be shooting themselves in the foot if they decide to discontinue the K7 in favour of either a full frame of 645D. After all not every has the money for those, some of us have a lot of APS-C only lenses, but want something as good as the K7.
Knowing Pentax though I can feel a foot shooting incident coming up .

I also notice that both the 16-50* and the 16-45 are on sale, with the indication that no new stocks are coming.

Edit: comment on lenses added

like the kx/k7 situation... It's double the price, but you get a mic, jack and extra noise on the higher end model!

I held off buying 'cause I'm anxious to see a kx with a mic jack or a price drop on the k7!

Exactly Don. Now a Kx with a mic jack would be worth having.
Or a K7 at a better price and with less noise.

I know quite a few people who have given up on Pentax because they were disappointed in the K7. I benefited by getting a great deal on my 60-250 lens, but it is a real shame that some Pentaxians of long standing are moving over to Nikon, and even to Sony.

I don't really see why you could be disappointed by the K-7.

I wouldn't be disapointed in the k7, it is a fine camera.
like Gartmore prove in another thread, you really have to split some mighty fine hairs to argue one camera over another these days...

my complaint is the price gap, and what you get for the price difference....
and it's not really a complaint, more of a cynical observation....
the only thing 'wrong' with the k7 is the kx's price point... and there' nothing wrong with the kx's price!

With the K-7 you get micro focus adjustment, weather sealing, 100% viewfinder, more fps, another wheel, top lcd and probably a few other things that (to me) justify the price difference.

My complaint is the noisier sensor.

It's about 1 stop worse than the K-x, but the low ISO noise is better than the K-x, so that suit's me fine as I rarely stray above ISO 800. The K-x high ISO seems to have some evidence of more embedded NR applied in Raw at all ISO's, but the K-7 images do have more appeal to me. Low noise isn't the be all and end all.
Best regards
