Jessops in trouble?

I have always found them willing, I bought a lens that way in November when they took 20% off

The Nokia also serves as a personal organiser, sat nav, MP3 player, notepad. I don't even use it as phone - I haven't even put a SIM card in it.
Of course I still use my K-5's on proper shoots, but the Phone cam allows to me get the shots I couldn't get with DSLR's.
So when you say 'RUBBISH!' please bear in mind that there's a lot more ot photography than IQ.

Not everyone has a smart phone because their stupidly expensive, and anyway, a smart phone cant compare to an SLR. The sensor on a phone is nowhere near as good, and the battery always dies just as you are about to take that wonderful shot.

Walked past the Ipswich Jessops today. Obviously the shutters were down and the lights were off. Had some very sad feelings for the poor folk that used to work there.

I have to agree with the comments about Jessops. The store here in Lincoln stopped stocking Pentax quite a while ago. So, I stopped going in. However, London Camera Exchange have opened a second shop here in Lincoln in December almost opposite where the Jessops store was and they are now stocking Pentax whereas their store further up town had stopped a while ago. Godd for LCE!

Shame LCE in Manchester is rubbish! Not a nice place to visit. They used to have a reasonable amount of Pentax gear, but not anymore. In fact, the inside of the shop is not welcoming anyway.
As for Jessops, I do feel for most of the staff, as recently they were beginning to staff the shop in Manchester with people who actually knew their gear, even Pentax! But for Jessops itself? nope.
The good news is that a couple of the guys from Jacobs in Manchester, who are togs, and great people, have found themselves at Stephens instead. Good for them. As for Stephens, they only do Leica, but having a talk with my friends in there, and within earshot of the owner, I did suggest why not stock pentax as well (well the DSLR's, the MX-1 and Q) as the brand would compliment the expensive Leica gear, as both brands focus on small light premium lenses, fine premium compacts and medium format. So, who knows? We may have a place in Manchester for Pentax as well.
In the meantime it is either SRS or Mathers for me.

According to this evenings Midlands News the administrators in control of HMV are looking at putting a Jessops outlet in selected stores.
