Is this worth a mention?

Hmm. Having thought about it for a bit I think that the mere fact that both versions look different means it cannot be a monitor calibration issue at my end...

I shall investigate, possibly post a thread here later.

John can you look at this page, does the top image look correct on your system? Trying to work out if my upload has a colour profile which is being stripped on the mid-size version ... http://color.org/version4html.xalter

Of the three images, the top one looks correct. They are pretty awful images though, so I don't know how good the test is.

Okay thanks The image quality doesn't really matter, it's just a test to see if you end up with 1 or 2 green corners.

Edit: You said 'of the three images'. There are actually 4 images there, can you please clarfiy that the top two look the same (colour-wise) on your screen?

The top image of four segments only shows two correctly - top left and bottom right.

Ahhh thank you thats very helpful. That means your browser isn't colour managed, which I think means my colour profile being stripped supposition might be correct. I'll post if I figure itout.

That was using IE8. I've just tried with Firefox and the bottom two are spot on, top left is OK but not as good colour and top right is no good.

Not wanting to open a can of worms - I think it's perfectly possible that beginners to digital photography don't know what post production is, and neither are they aware of sites like flikr, etc., which could host images they want feedback on.
The combination of those things, to greater or lesser degrees will govern which images appear in the gallery. To some extent I think people are more willing to accept a technically better image with poor / uninteresting composition or content, than a technically bad image with marginal content.

Green on both the PC and the netbook. But then I use Firefox on both.

Blue in IE 8 though.

Tried it on Windows 7 same as XP Pro except when you save it to the HDD and look at with Windows Picture Viewer when it becomes RED. Probably RED in an Editor as well.

Don't worry about it not showing RED in a Browser
