Well, I now know what my best shot ever looks like. Thanks Martin.
As I can't do any better I don't have a camera anymore
The K20 is sent off for service, the *istD doesn't like playing stand-in and stumps with it's feet, throwing one tantrum after the next.
On Monday I'll travel to (hopefully) sunny Hampshire for the working week (without camera...:cry. So even if I can sweet talk the *istD in working again there's not much time for more shots.
Martin, I'm honoured by the camera phone quote, I'll print it out and put it in a safe place. (I doubt it is true, though, but thanks all the same).
And my phone is a Siemens one, that already tells you that it is an older model. It does have a camera but I haven't used it much. In true spirit of this competition, here is my best mobile phone shot ever:

Good luck to all of you and fun judging to Martin,

It is fun, and from what I have seen, your work is certainly up for it.
Martin.
I'll second that

Thank you very much Father Ted, I only need to believe it myself now
I've made some ecperimentel shots yesterday, Still need to look how they are but they would have been nice for the abstract compition from the previous week. I'm too late now though
More Photos are up now, how on earth will I compete against those. Ah well I will try my best

Thanks Hyram, I appreciate the offer.
I won't have much time to go out photographing. And my friends I'm staying with have a newly acquired bridge camera, a Panasonic. So if the withdrawal gets too tough there is some mild remedy at hand.

Is the Panasonic the LX3? If so, would be interested to hear your thoughts on it as I'm thinking of getting one of these as a take everywhere camera.

Mhuni,
it is the LX3. You can find a few pics from my friends here: http://picasaweb.google.com/nadiababkina2009/RondaneNorway# (but I'm not sure that all were made with the LX3, take a look at the "more info" link).
But seeing the original pics and being able to zoom in is much better...
If I don't remember to report back, give me a prod.

Aiki,
yes, that's Riga. What a wonderful day it was, we were going from our hotel to a meeting and I think we all would have gladly skipped the meeting and went on to explore Riga a little closer. We didn't have much time on the trip.

So far in the fortnight, I have only taken two different images and I cannot decide between them (assuming that I do not photograph anything else)
They are completely different to each other but I quite like them both
It is far easier having a theme to comply with

I am not impressed with the quantity
And to be honest.....I am really surprised that there are so few pictures, yet. I do hope things change for the better, the coming days.
Martin.
