Cheers Barrie, I also have some zomei filers and they are a good cheap option, I was wondering about the breakthrough brand as they seem to be claiming they are sharper and have 0 colour cast.

The whole world of filters is changing rapidly at the moment. The new pretenders to the throne are all claiming to be tint free and "Glass" which in the past many of the leading brands wernt. I have previously seen the filter that slips to the rear of the lens. Though not used it looks a nifty idea. Personally I purchased some 82mm Kase filers for my DFA 24-70. Which are superb. but no use for the Irix or the Pentax 15 - 30.. My only query is how do you conect a grad filter to the Irix ? Only get square / rectangular glass ones....

After a quick search on the Irix gel filters, they come in 3 strengths .6 .9 and 1.2 you get 15 filters in a pack, thats 5 of each and they cost around a tenner for the 15, might be a bit gimmicky but who knows. When searching a well known auction site today I came across a Haida circular nd grad, it screws on to the front as any circular filter would and seems to have a rotating bit that you can rotate to match the horizon, but I presume it has to have a fixed height, I dont see how you adjust the height that the grad starts.
Google search should bring it up.

Sorry my poor explanation... I only purchased the full ND in the circular ones.. i found they trapped the light better. Between the lens. Than the rectangular ones. I found 3 stop, 6 and 10 were all I ever required.
I havn't purchased my Grads yet. As with the DFA 15-30 they require a 150mm square set. And in Kase they are £200 each plus holder. Which I think is excessive for the very few landscape shots I take on.
But if the Irix ones are only a tenner. Why turn away from the manufacturers offering ? But with the ND mounted internally, You do still have to focus the lens... But I'm sure you have considered all this along the way..

I have used the Irix edge filter holder on the Irix 15mm lens.
This works really well and uses 100mm square filters e.g. lee, kase, NISI etc.
I purchased it from link just after it was released and it may be available from other stores now.
The holder is an excellent design , very well made and comes with the adaptor for the 15mm lens which attaches via the bayonet mount for the hood.
You can use the holder with two slots and it does not vignet.
Let me know if you want more info.

Another here with the edge 100 holder. Use my Formatt Hi-tech 100mm filters no issues

Well the irix gelatin filters arrived. Hopefully I'll get to try them out at the weekend,
