Great shots Peter, I love number 1, I wonder if their off to have a go on another roller coaster ride, I bet the cheese sandwiches are in her bag. Well captured.

Really good shots, i like these alot. I took my camera into town on saturday but lost my bottle when it came to shooting people without their consent or knowledge.
Did the old couple know were photographing them?

The shot was taken with Sigma 10-20 at 12mm held down at my waist, pointed in their general direction and then heavily cropped.

They are all very good photos. I especially love the simplicity and graphic nature of the second shot, really nice. The first one is the sort of shot I think about taking and never have the guts to actually do! It is excellent and full of character. I am not so keen on the last one though, the statues are very dark and there is a bit of burnt out sky. I might have tried a slightly different angle (if that is even possible) so that the range is a little less.

The second was taken with FA43ltd. Cropped a bit as I was bit far.
I agree on the last one. It's not exactly as I wanted it, but it's getting there. I'm passing that statue every morning, so I'm sure I'll have plenty opportunities to reshoot. But maybe later in the day/early evening it would be better, it may need tripod though. Oh well, I'll see...

Excellent work: I love street photography. The combination of your K10D (what an underrated body that is) and the 43mm is a potent one, bound I feel sure to improve anyone's photography.
Almost makes me feel like dusting off my old Yashica twin lens reflex to attempt some unobtrusive waist-level shots. My son submitted a whole portfolio of candid street shots for his AS and A2 photography course all taken on a Pentax K1000 with gritty black and white film!
I particularly like the girl in the rain (how many people would have binned this, not appreciating the potential?) and the couple at the lights. We need more photographs that make you think, which you can appreciate with your mind, rather that just with your eyes!

Indeed it is Covent Garden marketplace. I work just around the corner on Long Acre so I spent many lunches in the area...Love the second shot, is the third Covent Gardens ?

Great shots Not so keen on the 4th one, the distortion is a bit much and the crop is too close to the horse ears. Love the 1st and 2nd ones though! Great expressions on the old couple, and I like the almost abstract nature of number 2. It seems a bit slanted but I think it's an optical illusion due to the diagonal lines. Great BW conversion in all of them!
