As usual with extreme wide angles: the effect is interesting, even startling but often not very pictorial, if you know what I mean. I like the idea of the frame here, bending round the view. A hard lens to use well, I'd have thought. I'd keep getting my feet in the shot!
Have you used your Helios 58mm on your K-m much? I bought a cheap, very tatty one, a couple of weeks ago and it seems quite sharp and very easy to focus due to the bright image. I was pleased with the results.

Not got my feet in too many..yet! I find that unless looking slightly down you're generally ok.
I know what you mean about 'pictorial' quality of fisheye shots, I often think fisheye images are best for impact work. That said, the beauty of the Pentax fisheye zoom is that the further you get away from the 10mm end, the less pronounced the effect is (the above shot was taken at, or close to 10mm IIRC). It's also very close focusing (15cm I think) which makes it more versatile than you'd think. Plus, I find it makes you think more about composition which can only be a good thing.
Re: the Helios 58mm, I'm a bit ashamed to say I haven't used it on the K-m at all yet, completely due to the fact that I haven't got a screw adaptor for it (which assume the Helios would need), I haven't even taken it off the Zenit body yet as it needs work doing to it and there is still film inside! It was my Dad's old camera which he bought when I was born and I found it knocking around his shed a few weeks back.
It seems to be a decent, strudy, fairly fast lens though.

There was an excellent fish-eye thread a little while back with some great images. I had always been a fish-eye cynic until then. Must try and find it...

Cheeky aside - I'm trying to sell one of these in order to acquire a sigma 10-20, if anyone has that urge let me know! It's a cute lens: took this pic of holmbury st mary church interior with it only last week.
