Technically it could be classed as shill bidding and, therefore, outside the letter of eBay's law. But as there's no intent to deceive anyone (which is usually the purpose of shills) I think it's well within the spirit of them.

Up to you anyway John - it's no skin off my nose either way.

Alas, tradgedy has struck. I fitted new batteries and the meter has now failed. Yes, the batteries are fine...

I suppose something like that has to happen sometime, but at least I can change the listing accordingly and any winner won't feel they have been deceived.

It looks like my secret dream of finding a brand new MX (boxed and never opened please) will have to be dusted off after all....

You will have to make do with a well loved one - that maybe just needs the light seals replacing.
